When did you start speaking in tongues???????

 ;D
I am pretty proud of myself that I can actually ask that question and know what it means!  ;)

I can not actually prepare a powerpoint presentatin, that is something my 12 year old daughter is doing for a school project.

She is doing a project entitled "Music of the American Revolution" and is showing how the lyrics were used as propaganda by the different sides, using the same tunes and rewriting the lyrics.

She has found some "ree and legally downloadable MIDI files"on line for  "Yankee Doodle", "Heart of Oak" and "Nancy Dawson" and wants to import them into the slides where the lyrics for each song will be shown.

Last night she how to do it and I just looked at her blankly.

I can also tell you that the problem with the Slat-fin  furnace is that the thermocoupler needed replacing, after having only been replaced two years ago.

Fortunately "Al the Plumber"  a fat little old Italian man came and after laboring slowly down the stairs and sitting on his upturnd bucket said' "Oh yeah, its the thermo-coupler, I though it would be, I brought one with me" and installed it one, two, three.

It cost $130,  which I hadn't budgeted for, but hey I guess it could have been worse!

The home interior temperature has just reached a toasty 59 degrees F as per the thermostat in the hall.  It was below 50 before, the lowest the thermostat shows is 50 and then needle fell just below it so I don't know how cold it actually was!

No, Al adheres to the "Waistband Of The Pants Reach To The Armpits"  school of fashion.

A fine thing in a plumber, I believe.

DRMATTH - Yes, DRMBARNUM has already answered the question posed by your Valentine....it was indeed Miss Coleen Gray who played THE LEECH WOMAN, I think MBARNUM just interviewed her!

However, in addition to Miss Gray - the film featured Grant Williams aka The Incredible Shrinking Man, Gloria Talbott (the Girl Who Bought Superman & Daughter of Dr Jekyll), and Phillip Terry (ex Mr Joan Crawford).

He mentioned Yvette in connection with Allison, because Yvette played the second femme role in ATTACK OF THE 50 FOOT WOMAN....most mainstream film watchers would probably know her best as the laughing girl on the telephone in New Year's Eve party sequence of SUNSET BOULEVARD.

Hayes and Vickers shared an agent - professionally.  Hopefully he has read my internet biography of Allison (now I am beginning to sound like DRJMK!).

And now for something entirely different....

Does anyone here know anything about how to import a MIDI file into a powerpoint presentation?

DR Vixmom - Looking at the PowerPoints I have on my computer here at work that I've downloaded and modified, it looks like The Vixter should first save her clips to a file on her computer.  Then, when she's on the slide to which she wants to attach a clip, go to the INSERT menu at the top of the screen and from the drop-down menu select Movies and Sounds.  From there I don't know exactly what will happen, but this might be a start.

Her project sounds very cool and I hope she gets an A+!

DR VIXMOM - check out this Microsoft Office help page.

Scroll down and it gives instructions about adding a midi to your Power Point Presentation.  8)

DR JRand - LOL - When all else fails, read the directions!  A trait I inherited from my mother is to plow ahead and try to figure something out before doing that.

Off to do the last Mockingbird discussion leader training session, after I sit through a meeting of the steering committee for the whole community reading project.

Bye for now.
