And now I must get ready to head out the door.  We are going to a Newark Bears game to celebrate the birthday of a friend.

The Newark Bears - didn't they used to play the Orpheum circuit along with the Flatbush Dogs?

TPunk - sorry about the headache - I suffered from frequent migraines for years. But as I got older the frequency, if not the intensity, dwindled. If I am aware of the aura, BEFORE it slams into my skull, I can sometimes short-circuit a headache with Excedrin Migraine. 2 tabs, and lie down in the dark, BEFORE the headache comes.

Elmore, my heart goes out to you and your family. I know, son. I know.

Where in tarnation IS everyone?  You'd think it was Father's Day or something.  Most unseemly.  I guess I'll go jog now.

Last night DR George asked:

"Does anyone know who sang for Irene Malloy?  It most definitely is not the voice of the actress who acted the part, but I've never been able to find out who it was.

Someone on IMDb.com's message board wrote "I once read that she was dubbed by different people on different songs."  Any info??"

Yep, in her solos, she was dubbed by Melissa Stafford. In ensemble work, it was Gilda Maiken.

I think this information was revealed when the DOLLY soundtrack album was released on CD some years ago. I think I copied the names down from Max Preeo's review of the CD in SHOW MUSIC.

Thanks for the info!  I wonder why they wouldn't put that information in the CD, even after all these years?  What are trying to hide? ::)

Boy, you sure are right about SHOW MUSIC, DR Michael S. I truly miss getting that magazine every quarter just chocked full of reviews and news. Much, much missed and I occasionally pull out an old issue to read just for fun since I miss it so much.

I had subscribed to SHOW MUSIC for the last few years of its existence.  I loved the issues with the scripts.  I remember Big and The Triumph of Love and one other...that I don't remember. :)

Well, I must go to Costco and get some blank videotapes.  The Light In the Piazza is going to be on in about 40 minutes and I don't have any!  But since Costco is less than two miles away, it won't take me much time.  After that I'll take a shower, then my sister, niece and I are going to our parents' house.  They're going to take their RV to the beach for the week.  We'll drive out with them and spend some time there, then come back this evening.

Hmm...

While trying to post that last post, I received the following error message:

I guess that's one way to stop the spammers and hackers.

Back from NACHO LIBRE:  not as funny as I'd hoped and rather a chore.  Why did Jack Black sign for this?  One of the reviewers said it would be the next NAPOLEON DYNAMITE.  Hmmm . . .

DRJRand55, found this photo during my BABES IN TOYLAND searches and thought of you.

DR Jose, yes that is the same WATER film...do go and see it...and see John Abraham!

I think a lot of that "danger" was publicity, although some fundamentalist Hindu's were not happy over it! But the film takes place in the 1930s and things have changed a bit since then as far as widow's remarrying...but the Hindu versions of Pat Robertson are likely still against such things.

And I do believe there are not song and dance numbers in the film...so far as I have been able to find...I have seen no soundtrack release...the DVD might have some extras, however.

If you go and see it, be sure to report back! I must know your opinion of John Abraham!

BK, yeah, Mark does a lot of stage-managing, I guess, not only for UK theatre and Opera (Opera program here is really BIG), but maybe even other shows around town.  I've met him only once...he and Joan were at our first big party here.  He seems like a fun guy.  Joan has done really great work with perserving the history and legacy of the department.

I've jogged, and eaten some cherries.  Isn't that exciting?  I am indeed going to see Nick's daughter's play this evening at 7:30, all the way in Santa Monica.  Nick doesn't think dinner can happen, so I guess I'll go out now and get something.  Hmmmm.  Whatever shall it be?

TPunk, I'm glad your head feels better. I think I've had a couple of migraines -- they were far worse than any sinus headache I've ever had.

For TAR fans, tonight is the 2 hour premiere of TREASURE HUNTERS (which is supposed to be similar to TAR). I think I will watch it.

Hmm...  I guess it is the lazy, hazy days of summer... Emphasis on the "lazy".... ;)

Well, I think we're going to venture out now.  Don't know where, don't know what, but we're leaving the A/C'ed comfort of the apartment and heading out into the big city for the late afternoon, evening.  Who knows?  We may end up at this event later:

BROADWAY BARES

*Yes, that is "Bares".  Broadway Bears was a few weeks ago.
