On that first Cavett disc are some Hepburn outtakes in the bonus features which I'll be certain to watch tonight along with the Fred Astaire interview.

I remember that interview with Astaire because they used film clips only from his Paramount features like LET'S DANCE (ugh!), HOLIDAY INN, FUNNY FACE, and BLUE SKIES. At one point, he congratulated Cavett's producers on getting clips of numbers he said were his favorites, and I thought it odd than none of his RKO-Ginger Rogers films or any of his MGM triumphs would be counted among his favorite works. Maybe he was just being gallant.

I agree Laura!

Guess that means you don't want a "Naked Cowboy" snow globe ;)

...So it turns out to be an ad for penis enlargement! Are there no depths to which these a-holes won't sink? (A rhetorical question.)

So, did you place an order? (A probative question).

Yes, the little girl does her own tapping - she was a little bundle of dynamite.  I will say that the SF audience you hear whooping it up was really that way - we didn't sweeten it at all.

Guess I'll head downstairs now to clean the guest bath and then back to TV.

I still haven't decided if I will watch WEDDING CRASHERS or just give it a pass. I was SO disappointed in THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN, and this made even more money last year, so I'm wondering if movie comedies of today just aren't to my liking.

I have this to say: LAGAAN is one heck of a beautiful, wonderful movie!

It was like watching a Rodgers and Hammerstein film made in India...the music was great, the dances were great, the story was fantastic!

I highly recommend it...and you needn't be a fan of Bollywood to enjoy this film!!

Do lady lawyers have a reputation for being bad tippers? ???

der Brucer

No, I'm actually a good tipper. When I saw him, he didn't even have a place to put tips....and I wasn't going to put one in his undies.

I have been  busy today washing windows.  Got the livingroom done. That was a chore. My goal is one or two rooms every weekend until they are done.  It involves takin the combinations apart and is very time consuming, so I'm not going to do them all now.

DRs who are following the Grand Tour:  I can't remember who has what dates etc!! I know I put them all on here last week. I only have another 24 hours with access to the NET. Messages to DR Elmore, DiT and TCB will hopefully find me over the three weeks.

Keith surprised me by sending the following email to our puppy’s breeder. :D :D :D

We're going to go with the registered name of Silver Blaze, call name SHERLOCK.  The Silver Blaze is a Conan Doyle / Sherlock Holmes short story in which the following famous exchange takes place:

Detective Gregory (Scotland Yard) - "Is there any point to which you wish to draw my attention?"
Holmes - "To the curious incident of the dog in the night-time."
Detective Gregory (Scotland Yard) - "The dog did nothing in the night-time."
Holmes - "That was the curious incident!"

Initially, we thought Hound of the Baskervilles would be
ideal but soon remembered that the hound in question was demonic! Anyway, as it now stands, Muzbe has morphed into Sherlock.

Any spare vibes would be appreciated for my friend Peter who is fighting (the problem is he is not fighting) the dreaded HIV and is hospitalised at the moment. I'm off to visit him. He is only 41, has a 12 year old daughter and has much to live for - if only the cycle can be broken.

I'm worried.  DP Colin has just groaned at FJL's R & H  posts.  I thought a sari with a fringe may have been  appropriate. At least "an Elephant's eye" does seem to be more apt for a musical in India.

Thanks Jane. I pray he will be here when I return.  He is from a country town and is so alone in a City hospital - 5 hours drive from anyone else he knows.

.I'm begining to picture Bruce Kimmel's idea of hell: Dining on Yogurt Tzatziki, Golden-Batter Kalamaria, Eggplant Melitzanosalata - washed down by Diet Coke, natch - as men in skirts and hats with pom-poms dance around him.

Just for fun let's add some marzipan for dessert.  ;D

I know; too clinical, I guess, but I do find the entire premise of his "occupation" so fascinating, and I'm just curious about how all it started and what kind of life he had before.

Since he averages $1,000.00 a day, I wish I had thought of it!

Off to work....if my 16 year old nephew....who was out until after 2 am - doesn't come out when I pull into his drive way, I am supposed to go in and call someone ELSE to work with me today.

"Why can't they be like we were?
Perfect in every way?
What's the matter with kids today?"

"Well, I tried Lou, but I failed!"

Good mawnin', folks! Today is my brother-in-law's birthday, and we didn't get to a birthday celebration for my sister, his wife, two weeks ago - so I think there might be some sort of b'day bash later today or tonight. These are not Party People, so maybe some barbecue from Wood Ranch or something, shlepped over to their house? Their son just got back last night from his honeymoon in Hawaii - he may have some ideas.

It's such a lovely day! And I see on the weather map that it's raining again up north -- whatta surprise!

It isn't raining around here!
