HELLO, I MUST BE GOING
« on: October 07, 2006, 01:16:49 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes came and went, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're all doing their Groucho imitations and singing Hooray For Captain Spaulding.

Margaret Dumont: "Oh....your excellency!"
Groucho: "You're not so bad yourself!"
(I can't remember the movie...Duck Soup?)

Glad to hear you enjoyed Wicked, Cil and J.

I hope you enjoy Grey Gardens. I hear they have tinkered with the show since I saw it but not so much that it's completely changed. I will probably see it some time in November.

Only two more Saturdays (after this one) and it's over for another year.

Ginny should be here in about an hour or so (it's 7:30) but I won't see her since she has her own work activities planned.

Poltroon...

I bought something from a guy on ebay who specialized in printing. He's helped recommend fonts for my project from time to time, and helped me find out signature "commie font". His company is http://www.poltroonpress.com/

DR Cillaliz, I'm glad that gravity was defied last night. Wish I could say the same for myself...

Peter loved meeting you, too---he said you were very cool and a kindred spirit!

I guess the line that pops into my mind immediately is:  "You want ice water?  Send some onions up, that'll make their ice water."

DR Jose, I was telling my husband about your job on the ship, and he said that Ray Evans and Johnny Mercer used to play cruises, in fact that's how they met. It was in some far away locale but they were both there while playing the cruise. (Maybe a slightly different style of cruise, but still...) They loved the cruises!

Another favorite from Duck Soup that has wormed its way into my vocabulary:
"Go! And never darken my towels again!"

Saturday morning greetings!  How many days does DR Jose's workday begin 2 hours before mine ;) ?  The conference went well yesterday - it's always more beneficial for me for the "face time" than for the new information.  Today there's more on the agenda for my current needs.  I'll be there soon, DR Ben!

We totally crashed last night, but feel much better today.  Off to breakfast, then DH Richard will walk me to my bus.

Bye for now!

Well.....Marx Bros....

DUCK SOUP near the end when they are trapped in house and being bombarded, Groucho gets on the radio with this message:

"Send help.  We're trapped.  There's three men and one woman.  If you can't send help, send two more women."

And so many responses on his television show:

Contestant:  I have 17 children.

Groucho:  17! My oh my.

Contestant: Yes, I love my husband.

Groucho:  I love my cigar, too, but I take it out of my mouth now and then.

I had a wonderful time on Thursday with Ginny and her DH Richard, Cillaliz, JHVW and our wonderful tour guide Jose.

We met at the Time Warner Center and wandered over to Sarabeth for brunch

OH!

Pumpkin waffle with honey, sourcream, pumkin seeds, raisins and strawberries.    HEAVEN!!!!  Cillializ and I couln't decide between the chicken and apple sausage and the porka nd apricot sausage so we each ordered one and shared.  MMMMMMMMMMMMM

The weather was perfect for walking and what fun we had.  MBarnum kindly called us up and we had a chance for a quick chat.

We missed having the rest of last year's group with us....

Danise I kept thinking about our day at Central Park and the Zoo!  I hope you can come up again soon and we can visit again.  All the best to you and your mom.

"Oh, Professor, you're full of whimsey!"

"Can you tell from there? I've been eating radishes."

More will come to me - I still laugh at those films!

So, I'm MIRED, I tell yiz, MIRED!! In my course work for that BA at CSU-LA: On Tuesday, I have 3-count'em-3 tests, a paper due Monday, and a speech due Thursday -- and this weekend I'm at the Other School, in my first marathon weekend for that Masters degree... last night from 6 to 11, then back again this morning at 9 until 11 tonight, then back at 9 tomorrow - yes, Sunday, until 7...
Fortunately, this masters thing happens only ONE weekend each month... Ah, la vita studentesca!!!

(what was I thinking???)
