You did it, DR Ben -- page 4!!  Some banana dance or bowl of oatmeal with raisins dance I suppose with all these breakfast posts this morning...or better yet a bowl of oatmeal with freeze-dried bananas on top dance...

Good morning, Miss Karen.  I did have a mix of Quaker instant banana cream and strawberry cream oatmeal this morning in honor of the pictures, but no, I shall not comment.

DR Edi,

I have to admit being fiercely jealous that you're getting to see THE CLOSER months in advance of the rest of us. Of course, you're working, and for us it will be PURE pleasure, but I'm jealous nevertheless and, of course, very excited to know new episodes are coming to us in a few months.

The two subway stations I use most frequently, according to this map, have an overabundance of smells from which to choose  :P

In my CD player -- Sarah McLachlan's "Mirrorball"  .....I will remember you....
In the car -- The Brain, of course

nothing in the DVD player (it confuses and frightens me like all this high tech stuff -- too many different remotes and things you have to punch, so I have to have the leprechaun around to do TV)....

DR Edi ~ What system do you edit on at work? Do you edit at home? If so, a system -- or software on a computer?  Just wondering what the pros use and recommend.  I dabble with the editing now and then using I-Movie on a laptap.  Case uses the Windows software on his laptop.

Thanks for the Armenian info DR Jeanne. I have not made it over to Glendale as of yet, during my LA visits...maybe this time I will! I believe Artesia has a large Indian population, so that is a place I had thought about checking out as well.

I think I should have scheduled a longer vacation! There is so much I want to see in the area.

I, dear friends and readers, am annoyed.

This morning I awake at an early 6:30am, drag myself out of a nice warm bed, grab a mere granola bar for breakfast, walk to the metro, take the train to my school, walk to my class,  and find a note on the door that says the following:

"Music 111 has been cancelled today, Friday March 9, because
Dr. Henderson could not be present. The class will resume next friday. Please read chapters 5, 6, and 7 and be ready for a quiz."

So, It is understandable that i am annoyed. I might be outraged later, but it is too early for such extreme emotions.

What's annoying is the quiz part.  Having already heard stories of "Dr." Henderson, I must say he's on my list of big idiot teachers.

George, Matt H, Vixmom, & Singdaw thank you for the good wishes.

Miss Karen, thanks for asking.  Keith’s mother said to wait until she gets home before we call again, which won’t be until later today.  His brother will be at the hospital around 9:30 & I’m sure if there are any problems we will hear from him.

Sherlock if anything is worse.  It is very difficult to keep a puppy calm and jumping up & down isn’t doing him any good.  We have scheduled another doctor’s appointment for Monday.  If he isn’t better I expect x-rays will be taken.

DR Edi ~ What system do you edit on at work? Do you edit at home?

I've been using AVID for the past 15 years...I worked on the first one in Atlanta. I freelance, so I work at a variety of post houses. I bring a lot of work to them, so they will also let me do my own projects there, like THE BRAIN.

This was a very expensive system originally, but now it's very affordable. You can work with it for inder $2,000. I have the program on my laptop so I can go to NY and work with my partner. SACCO AND VANZETTI was the first project I cut on my laptop and altough it was a pain to get it up and running, I was very pleased with it and it did everything I needed.

Vixmom, I enjoyed your wonderful story about Jon Inman.

Elmore-GOOD OFFICE HUNTING VIBES!!!

Edi-I also find it exciting you are working on THE CLOSER & knowing new episodes will be forthcoming.   :D

DtM, interesting concept from Amazon & TIVO.   I wonder what that would do to NetFlix.  Maybe nothing, unless you intend to watch the recording quickly it will only used up available recording space.  I think I might still prefer a DVD sitting in my drawer until I’m ready to watch it.

I should ride the Metro just once in order to believe it exists.  L.A. & Metro are not a concept I can easily grasp. ;D

I thought professors use email these days.

Thanks very much for the tv information DR MattH.

Oh re: IDOL, apparently the women have been getting twice as many votes as the men. Not sure if that will change this week. But it would make it seem like haley might stick around for a couple more weeks.

I would think that blake, chris s and chris richardson would be safe. And i also still think phil is popular. So if they keep sanjaya, that basically only leaves brandon to go.

Is this the documentary about the Billy Holliday song? I know some of the folks involved with it. It is a fascinating story, made by a very nice guy...
