Good morning, HHW--or good day, or whatever the hell it is. Yes, Jeanne is having one of those days. Feeling pretty sleep-deprived myself. Marvelous Matt and I spent several hours going over design decisions and schedules for my house, trying to figure out how to get all this work done ASAP. I'm now completely exhausted! I need some clones! Or a few elves. Thank God for Marvelous Matt. When I don't get to something as quickly as I'd planned, he works around it or does it himself. I wish I'd found him years ago.

I'm not a sports fan so I don't go to many sports-related movies. That said, I did enjoy:

Re THE TRIPLETS OF BELLEVILLE, I admired the production, but, like so many animated films, it left me a bit underwhelmed. I'm a real drama lover and I find that I need actual HUMANS for compelling drama.

I'm listening to "Wall-To-Wall Stephen Sondheim" and they just went from an interview with Liz Callway back to the concert and they played a bit of the overture to Merrily We Roll Along and I grabbed my phone because that's what I have as my ringtone!  That was funny and a little weird. ;)

I wish everyone at HHW a pleasant Saturday. I'm going to have some lunch and maybe a nap and try to feel human again.

Oh!  I just remembered that I when I got home last night, I received "David Shire At the Movies" in the mail!  I'll definitely listen to that AND the CDs very kindly sent by Tomovoz. :D

Letting Jose off the hook"

Quote
Let's see if I understand
How the world works lately...

If a man cuts his finger off
while slicing salami at work,
he blames the restaurant.

If you smoke three packs a day for 40 years and die of Lung cancer, your family blames the tobacco company.

If your neighbor crashes into a tree while driving home drunk, he blames the bartender.

If your grandchildren are brats without manners, you blame television.

If your friend is shot by a deranged madman, you blame the gun manufacturer.

And if a crazed person breaks into the cockpit,  tries to kill the pilot at 35,000 feet and the passengers kill him instead, the mother of the crazed deceased blames the airline.

I must have lived too long to understand the world as it is anymore.

So, if I die while my old, wrinkled ass is parked in front of this computer, I want all of you to blame Bill Gates...okay

...DR Ginny you must cease and desist with this talk (posting) of pies -- every time you do, I can't get pie and whipped cream out of my mind...and there is no House of Pies here for me to make a run to...

OK, DR Miss Karen, we can talk about ice cream instead (on which I do not like whipped cream!), but that will make me want to go to Graeter's tonight!

TOD

THE NATURAL
FIELD OF DREAMS
MAJOR LEAGUE
BRIAN'S SONG
HEAVEN CAN WAIT (Warren Beatty)

But I think my favorite sports realted movie is a little 1979 film called TAKE DOWN.  It might actually be a Disney film.  It stars Edward Herrmann, Maureen McCormick, and Lorenzo Lamas at his most beautiful.  Very predictable story, but I love that movie.
