Noel - Congrats on your award.

I remember Skip having seen your show AREA 51 (he went with your mutual friend Nina), which I think was in early 2000.  But to put your mind at ease, we had the rights to adapting the screenplay to the 1984 film THE LAST STARFIGHTER for a while before that, with the contract for the rights having actually been signed in April 1999, and inquiry letters and negotiations going back to 1996.  Plus we're not a spoof.  Hope that info helps  :)

Wow... you're that Noel Katz??   As a lurker, up until a few days ago, I couldn't access people's profiles so I didn't know your last name...and I just didn't connect who you were.

Cool!

DR Elmore - Richard takes calcium supplements to alleviate leg-cramping at night.  Just don't take quinine - that almost killed his older brother several years ago!

Speaking of calcium, that's one of the things on our Sam's Club shopping list for today.

Bye for now!

I've heard that eating an occasional banana helps, too.  And that is NOT a euphemism!

I'm sure it will happen.

Clouding up right now, and I hear thunder in the distance. That could mean rain or the clouds may pass over before they dump moisture on us. We'll see.

DRelmore, a hot towel might have relaxed the charlie horse much faster.

Nursie, you'll have to fly to New York and help me.  I need your medical assistance!

I didn't have a DVD cued up in the player while I was preparing lunch, so I flipped on HBO-HD, and THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA was being reshown, so I watched it from the point where I joined it (when Emily gets hit by the car) until the end. Always enjoyable.

I opened the season 1 & 2 set of MOONLIGHTING, and put in the first disc. I didn't want to watch the pilot, so I started with the second episode. In this one, David and Maddie think they're searching for the long-lost son of a hit man. It ends up not about that at all, but it's an enjoyable show. Tim Robbins, looking about 16, played a young hit man out to get the old hit man who made the request of the detectives.

I watched another MOONLIGHTING episode on disc 1, this one dealing with the search for a leak at an electronics firm who's trying to perfect a laser rifle for use with the military. Cotter Smith, who also looks like he's in his mid-20s in this, was a main guest star. He continues to appear as a guest star on all the top TV shows today.

I next watched the first part of the "maing of" documentary on the MOONLIGHTING DVD set. They did get Willis and Shepherd to talk as well as Alyce Beasley and Glen Gordon Caron in mentioning how the show came to be and especially how they had to fight for ABC to allow Bruce Willis to be cast since the head of ABC did not like him. Watching the show now, it's inconceivable how someone couldn't be amused and charmed by his looks and delivery.

Hello everyone.

Hello DR Jane.  Thank you so much for the welcome.
This is my first post on the board.  I just joined today, after lurking for about two weeks or so.  I could no longer resist not posting!

I'm really glad to be joining all of you, and look forward to being a part of your lively and wonderful discussions.

I already know some of you.  DR FJL is a very dear friend, and through him I have had the pleasure of meeting DR elmore, DR Jose, and DR Rodzinski.  I even met BK once for about 30 seconds when he was doing the Last Starfighter reading with Fred and Skip.  I hope to meet more of you in the future.

Since I wanted to watch BAGHDAD CAFE in one sitting, and I didn't have enough time in the afternoon viewing slot to watch it all, I elected to put in BATMAN BEGINS and watch that again which I'll finish when I go back down. Looks like BAGHDAD CAFE won't get watched until tomorrow since I want to get RENAISSANCE watched tonight, and since it's black and white, I wanted to wait until the room could be completely dark to better be able to juge black and white levels, etc.

Well, the rain did arrive although it was a gentle shower, at least so far. It's still thundering out there, so I suppose a harder downpour could come up any time.

With it gently raining now, I think I'll lie down for a bit and then when I get back up, I can clean the master bathroom and then get back to viewing this evening.

BK ~ About Mickey Rouke's face, I read that he's had work done trying to repair major damage from his days of boxing .. he doesn't even look like the same guy, which makes me sad cuz I always thought he was good-lookin'/attractive in that sexy "bad boy" way ...

Ditto.
I love his look in RUMBLE FISH.
