gratuitous post for today: Cheyenne Jackson

:o   DR Singdaw.  There is absolutely nothing gratuitous about posting a photo of Cheyenne.

Saturday morning greetings!  Today is the first day of my July/August vacation  8)  It's a puttering and packing day before DH Richard and I leave for his summer week at the seminary in Wisconsin.  My bookbag is packed and I'm looking forward to lots of time to read.

DR Ginny - Good morning, and happy first day of vacation.  I hope you and Richard have a wonderful and relaxing time this week.

So I assume you grew up knowing Wendy?  Did she always want to be a playwright even as a kid?

DR Julie - Sorry to say, no!  She was significantly older than we were and already out and about.  I did meet her once, but I wouldn't say that I know her.

I see no "ah-ha" type clues in today's trivia question.  I don't know where to start.  Except to say good morning.

DR Ginny...

So I guess your turn at the library Potter discs didn't come up in time?   :(

Thank you, DR Julie.  It will be relaxing for me, but not for DH Richard.  It's his quarterly residency week for the distance learning MA in Ministry program, so he'll be in class and church most of the time.  Last month, he played while I worked in Washington, DC, so this time our roles are reversed!

No, DR Singdaw.  I "suspended" my reserve list, meaning that nothing will be filled for me until just before I go back to work.  Since Richard just finished reading the book with his eyes, he probably wouldn't want to read it with his ears right away.  We have some other audiobooks for the roadtrip.

I keep getting lost on this trivia question.  I find one or two of the criteria and then the rest doesn't fall into place.

Good morning!

We had a major thunderstorm last night and it rained for a couple of hours, so the air was cooler this morning but not cool enough to open everything up and air out the house. It looks like a pretty day today but a high of 90. I'll be spending most of the day inside.

I have more MUPPET SHOWS to watch today and tonight. I'd love to finish the set by tomorrow.

First thing today, however, will be Thursday night's BURN NOTICE. I was disappointed I couldn't get to it yesterday, but I will today for sure.

I picked THAT'S DANCING from the MGM set to watch next. I probably won't get to it until Sunday, but of the remaining films in the box, it's the one I haven't seen for the longest time.

I was looking at the photos and write-ups of the EMA convention which was in Las Vegas two weeks ago. I was invited to attend, but I couldn't afford the trip (just like I couldn't afford the NYC trip at the end of June). For someone like me who's loony for home theater, this would have been a dream trip. Ah, well, maybe next year.

Ah-Ha--one of my favorite one-hit wonders from the 80s.

I am really enjoying HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE. I'm going to head down now and continue reading. I'm trying not to read it all too quickly. The film version isn't going to be released for more than a year. (I don't think they even start filming until September.)

Uh-oh.  If DR FJL is having trouble with the Unseemly Trivia Contest, what hope have I?

I may have to stop "trivializing" (my word for working on the trivia question) for a while, although as usual, when it takes longer to answer the trivia question, I learn more about theatre than I do on the easy ones.

This search through the ibdb is a real reminder that so many talented artists had forgotten misfires, but it seems that the artists that endured professionally were the lucky ones who had their hits first, and therefore didn't have their careers killed by their msifires.

It IS fun looking at all this theatre history, even though it's more fun to actually get the answer.  :)  :)  :)

Another look at this commercial I have posted before.  WOW!!!

http://www.kingoftheroad.net/colorTV/RCA-colorTVcommercial.html

I love that commercial! LOL!

And speaking of commercials Netflix delivered a funny DVD called Commercial Mania...some great ones on it, including Brylcreme...and Vitalis...the Vitalis commercial actually makes me want to go out and buy some.

Time for to take a shower and head out to a couple of estate sales...one is at a trailer park in Keizer and the other is in a historic neighborhood by the Gov's mansion.

One of my roommates is still in the shower. And I have to leave in 15 minutes. I'm not pleased.

In the meantime...here's another gratuitous shot of Cheyenne... :)
