I have never gone on ebay and I think I shall keep it that way.  It sounds like a big hassle.  Plus, the less I see to buy, the less money I spend.

Actually many of the sellers are absolutely wonderful. And I've never actually spoken to this guy, so I can't actually say if he's rude.  It's just so weird that he doesn't respond (when he's been putting up new auctions). I think I will just pay for the 2 I bought and assume the shipping is what I think it is (it says $2 and that he combines shipping, and it can't be more expensive to send 2 charms than to send 1).  But I will say I was in shock when I read the 6 negative comments (he has hundreds of positive ones). I'm thinking if you just pay, and don't email that you won't have problems with him. And he's located in ottawa, so I should get my stuff fast!

The two sellers I dealt with this week, were unbelievably kind and went out of their way to help me. They wrote back immediately, and were wonderful to deal with.

The funny thing is after I said I wouldn't buy any more charms on ebay, my mom wants me to look for something for her :)

Oh, my goodness, Jennifer.  I've never seen any reply from a seller like that!  When I buy stuff (I've never sold anything), I never worry about how long something takes to get to me...as long as I eventually get it.

I will post more of his negative comments, just because it's so funny.  But I had NO idea that you weren't protected by ebay if someone cheats you. I don't get it. If you pay by credit card, can't you just refuse to pay?  Also, did these people have lots of positive feedback? Like I said, I only buy from people with lots of positive feedback (not that I buy much).

Okay how bizarre is this.  As I'm typing this, and preparing to pay through paypal. I get two automated messages from "the seller" about yesterday morning's auctions. Weird. Why would his system send me this now?  Who knows maybe he/she is online now and will read my messages.

This message was signed "tina". But I cannot imagine any woman talking the way I see in the negative feedback :)  (plus the people called him a him).

No, DR MBarnum, the Van Williams episode is not yet on DVD. "No Rice at My Wedding" was a fifth season episode, and only the first two seasons have been released, but I understand Season 3 is coming sometime in 2004. Can't wait.

LOL DRJENNIFER - I got a NEGATIVE feedback as a buyer when I gave a NEUTRAL feedback after waiting 4 weeks to get my item and then not getting it until I had emailed three times!

I know there are delays (like mail) that might be out of their control. But I think they should try to treat the buyers in a kind manner.  You shouldn't have to wait 4 weeks. And they should understand that.

That said, while "the seller" did not answer my 3 emails, I'm thinking it was ebay's fault that the automated message is only appearing in my email today (31 hours after the end of the auction). It says that the message was sent by ebays automated service. I will email them about that.

Okay here is one more of the negative feedbacks:

Buyers: Very rude seller must be a newbie or maybe a dork yes thats it. waste of time

Reply by seller: RUDE? YOU NEVER EMAILED ME, NOR HAVEU SENT PAYMENT, U HAVE BEEN REPORTED!

Follow-up by buyer: YOU HAVE A VERY FOWL MOUTH BUT I GUESS THAT NORMAL 4 CANADA SELLER

(okay in this case the buyer seems rude!)

Oh gosh these crack me up:

Buyer: Shipping is a rip off....Item is sent in a simple white enveloppe with one stamp

Reply by seller: TOTALLY NIEVE AND THINKS THEY SHOULDN'T PAY $2 FOR SHIPPING CHEAPSKATE! BEWARE

Okay here is my last one. Save the best for last :):

Buyer: THIS PERSON WILL RIP YOU OFF ON THE SHIPPING CHARGE. AVOID DEALING WITH THEM.

Reply by seller: $2 A RIP OFF? U R A COMPLETE IDIOT! HE WANTS 2 ONLY PAY 37 CENTS = RETARD!

Noel writes: "But of course Liz' rendition of The Story Goes On was the most thrilling performance of a new song I've ever seen on stage."

I never saw the show and I've never heard a particularly good rendition of the song, but I must say that, even if I did hear a good rendition of the song I'd probably still hate it. The story may go on, yes, but so in hell does the song!

There used to be a woman who sang this song at Eighty Eights every single Saturday night. After about the 10th Saturday, I turned to my partner Tom and said, "There's nothing like hearing a song about procreation in a room with a hundred other gay people . . ."    ::)

Jennifer I think you are becoming addicted.  Those responses are “something else”.

Danise I was browsing on the smiley site and some of them state they are free.

I thought all the smilies from clicksmiles were free.

And DR Jane: Those are all the responses from the same seller. I have not bought anything else from ebay. Those are from the 2 charms I bought on Friday.  After reading those comments, I decided to pass on the Y&R charm (and it is sideways which i don't like).

But I think it would be easy to become addicted, which is why I said you all should hit me if I buy anything else.  I will go for my mom (if she really needs what she asked for). But I'm done I think for the next few months.

I was so pleased in the production of BABY that I did that "Patterns" had been returned to the score. I love the song and found it very moving, and my character had his response to it in the next scene with "Easier to Love."

DR Danise, why aren't you comfortable using the smilies?

If you go back a page or two you see the post I made about what I found on that one smile page. I didn't realize it could be considered stealing and I know the click smile site didn't say anything about not doing it but I'd rather err on the side of caution.

The internet is still something new and confusing as to what is ok and what is not.  I don't want to take the chance on getting anyone on this board in trouble --myself included.   :)

First off...Happy Natal Anniversary, Noel!  (The only other person I know named "Noel" was born on Christmas Day...which really sucks as far as presents are concerned.)

Second off...the Significant Other, a few friends, and myself joined a whole buncha children, parents and assorted Friends of Dorothy for Sing-a-long Wizard of Oz last night, and it was pretty darned entertaining.  It would've been even more so, if my dinner hadn't started a major skirmish in my innards, which not only compromised the show, but kept me up most of the night in gastric distress.  The moral: never order Lobster in the Midwest.

Third off...I finished watching The Adventures of Captain Marvel earlier today.  Now, I'm not an expert on the serials, but I have seen a good many of them, and this one really is the best one I've ever seen.  My previous favorite was Jungle Girl, which was supposedly based on the Edgar Rice Burroughs novel of the same name.  It isn't though.

Fourth off...what the hell is up with Lyle Waggoner?  I've been catching repeats of The Carol Burnett Show of late, and he's never on it.

I did see that message. But for some reason I did not read your last line (don't know why). Hence my utter confusion, when you started saying you didn't want to post smilies anymore.

I do agree with what Jrand wrote.  Clicksmilies has info about how to copy their smilies. Why would they do that if they didn't want us to use them?

Geez, without karma and smilies, what would we HHW be left with? :)

Is the topic of the day still our favorite musicals that we thought should have been huge successes? (the topics from the past two days have merged into one big blur for me :) ).

Well, I have seen shows that I have truly loved.  But I'm not sure I would have expected them to be huge successes.  Sometimes it's odd what is a huge success. Cats.  Aida.

Three musicals which I loved, but which were not very successful are: MTC's The Wild Party, Jane Eyre, and Side Show.  I found them all thrilling and wonderful.  I think in the case of TWP, they sold quite well off-broadway, but because of the NY Times, never transferred and had the opportunity to see if Bway audiences would have liked it.  As for JE, sometimes I wonder why more people didn't want to see it (well known title). I think those who saw it liked it.  It's interesting how people seem to like to see "the hit shows". I mean why is Wicked selling so well this season?  As for Side Show, I think someone mentioned the other day, that the topic of siamese twins is not a good one.  But it was truly an exceptional show. I went in expecting nothing, and I was blown away, by one of the best performances (alice & emily) that i have ever seen. I truly wanted them to win & share the Tony that year. They were that good.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset anyone--I was the one upset when I read that but if Bruce says it's ok, then I'll be ok with it.  But I'll only use the click smile site until/unless some others are cleared.

I don't know enough about this stuff to be sure on my own.

Hello, all!

Jed, I didn't use the internet for over 24 hours. So there! Man, I was really hoping you had a hot date...I wanted to hear a sappy story!

Jane, you are so sweet. Haha my mom never tried to be discreet about my cleaning "abilities." You are definitely like a mother to this board, in my opinion. :)

Danise, I know what you mean about worrying/wondering about the legality of taking certain things off the internet. I'm the same way. I commend you for it! :)

Thanks.  :)  Like I said, I don't know enough about this stuff to know what's legal or not.  When I saw what it said on that other board, I thought it best to check.

Jrand said it's ok and I don't disbelieve him but it's Bruces board so  it's his call.
