Those giddy with appreciation of The Brain From Planet X (as performed at the NYMF) might care to share their exhileration at the NY TIMES site.

Der Brucer -  Toby and Dylan are still resting, but I'll show the picture to them when they get up.  :)

Good morning, all! I deliberately said little about last night's situation because I wanted to keep the ball in BK's court.  Now that all has been revealed, I can only add that, having survived 2 NYMF shows last year, it all seems that the more things change the more they remain the same.

BK, Ron got in early from DC, spent the day at the soap, and Dona was in a dress at the Met for ROMEO ET JULIETTE.  After the show, they told me how much fun it was and to give everyone their best; I thought he was going to wait to see his friend Rob Evan, who he thought was a perfect Fred, but he said to tell Rob howdy and he'd talk to him later. After that, they were outa there.  I know he went out into the lobby to schmooze at intermission, and I'm sure he was looking for you.

As a big believer in amplified sound to a limited degree, I think it helps for the audience to work a bit, not to merely be washed over by sound, and that may have been beneficial to the show as well.  Kudos to the cast, the band, and the crew.

Whew!  Sound problems.  The NYMF people should be fined or penalized when problems like this happen.  They have a responsibility to their producers but a GREATER responsibility to the paying audience who shouldn't be expected to "understand" that it's a festival and "these things happen."

BUT it sounds as if the cast stepped up and did what had to be done, and it was very enjoyable reading DR CASON's reflections on the evening.

So, I'm outa here as well: I've got a trek to Toyland for sme editorial guidelines, then a meeting at Tony Walton's about a possible project. I can say no more, but it's something I would love to do.

After that, my only goal is to finish laying out the sketch for the Plaza Hotel event.  We settled on the orchestration yesterday, and tomorrow from 1-3 we assemble in the 72nd Street rehearsal studios to finalize the arrangement and to make a tracking tape for the fireworks crew.

The NYMF people should be fined or penalized when problems like this happen.

Remember, any fines imposed on the NYMF people will be reflected in higher fees and ticket prices next year! Penalize them enough, and the festival will be cancelled.

Sad to hear about Alice Ghostly.

Unfortunatly more and more of the greats are going to leave us. I don't think that there are that many "stars" left.

I will remember her from Bewitched, Designing Women, Cinderella (50's version) and The Julie Andrews Hour.

And although I never saw the episode and do not know if they had any scenes together Bruce Kimmel worked (maybe) with Alice Ghostly in the final episode of Ghost Story called: Time Of Terror also with Patricia Neal and Craig Stevens.

BK, I'm sorry to read about the mishaps with the technical aspects of the show. I'm glad to read that most of your cast is first-class!

BK, methinks you might be in LA in your thoughts, it's only in the 70s right now and scheduled to get into the low 80s at the highest point.

Saturday morning greetings!  Today's an information-waitressing day for me and right now I'm trapped working at the Computer Services Desk.

TOD - DR Elmore and I met when we were both cast in an awful production of Auntie Mame.  The flaming drinks got out of hand and caught the sofa on fire.  The "actor" playing Mr. Upson, wanting to get rid of his glass of fire, turned casually to the "actress" playing the maid and said, "Nora, would you take this please?" and placed the glass on her tray.

Ask DR Elmore about the nose dive I took off the edge of the stage during dress rehearsal for You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, which he directed.

So sorry to read aboput Alice Ghostley. Have loved her for as long as I can remember. She did a short-lived superhero spoof show with Wiliam Daniels called CAPTAIN NICE, and she was simply hilarious as his worrisome mother.
