APPLES AND ORANGES
« on: November 10, 2007, 12:07:44 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a few apples and a few oranges, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're eating both apples and oranges and even a few figs - no, no, not figs - raisins - ah, liasons.

Back from a fun but exhausting bossa nova gig.  I sang "Reza", one of my all-time favorite Edu Lobo tunes, in Portuguese for the first time tonight and no one ran screaming from the room so I am calling it an unqualified success.  :)

Tomorrow (today actually) is my big Pacific Pops concert, my 45 voice community choir for which I do all the vocal and orchestral arranging.  All of the songs this time have something to do with time, so it should be fun, though exhausting yet again.   So I will be sleeping all day Sunday after I get home from work.  ;)

Does an omnibus film [a film with many stories] necessarily have to present them sequentially, or can they be interwoven, as in Crash?

Hmmm...

Australia's Middle8Music site appears to be selling a new 2-disc CD of unreleased Nancy LaMott recordings, "Ask Me Again", as well as a DVD of concert performances, "I'll Be Here With You."  But no confirmation on the Midder Music site or on NancyLaMott.com!

An exchange or full refund just doesn't make a difference to someone from out of town who has planned and paid to see a show, and now will not get to experience Broadway.

It's too bad that people have been working without a contract since July, and they can't get together to stop this strike....terrible.

DR MBARNUM I enjoyed my Bollywood fantasy movie very much....lots of color...and great dancing and songs!!!  The story moved along pretty fast, but I think I got most of it.

I forgot to mention, I ordered the SITCOM book DR JoseSPiano mentioned from Amazon on Thursday and it arrived yesterday!  And it looks pretty wondrous.  :)

DR JRand57, there are no full-page shots of Ms. Messing.

And, I know I'm treading on thin ice here, but even though she mugs shamelessly, I still enjoy her on the screen.   :P    I'm not saying she's Lucille Ball, but I don't revile her as some DRs do!

Meeting a cousin in from a long shlep to see a show.  I warned them of the possible strike, but they're opting to come in anyway.
