Of course I don't think Laurie wants to do the Courts show anymore.

Poor Gale, and after learning all of those lines.  8)

I do think our JRAND is Gale's No. 1 fan.

'View' Host Has New History Faux Pas
Quote
(Dec. 5) --

Since starting her co-hosting role on 'The View,' Sherri Shepherd has had her share of "Huh?" moments. Most famously, the actress said she wasn't quite convinced that the earth was round.

A new quote burning up the viral world may become even more infamous, as Shepherd on Monday's 'View' got into a discussion about religion timelines with her fellow hosts. The ensuing discussion went in a head-scratching direction.

While talking about religion, Whoopi Goldberg suggests that ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus didn't have Jesus Christ or Christianity.

"They still had Christians back then," Shepherd retorts, claiming that the religion existed 300 years before Jesus Christ was born. "They had Christians and they threw them to the lions," she continues.

"I think this might predate that," Goldberg added.

"I don't think anything predated Christians," Shepherd replied.

In September, during a similar discussion about religious and scientific beliefs, Goldberg asked Shepherd if she thought that the world was flat.

"I don't know," Shepherd answered, adding that if her son asked her whether the world was flat or round, she'd "go look it up."

And just think - she can vote!

Gale has MANY fans on HHW.  I think DR RLP was speaking about an LP of hers last week.

I didn't realize that Hanukka began yesterday until I was alerted to the fact by the 5:00 news.  I'd like to wish my friends a very happy one.

;D  Thank you.  It is very early this year.

I know I said she was the one singer I remembered from radio in early-mid 1950s!  "My Little Margie" was my favorite TV show ("I Married Joan" was second), and any time I heard Gale sing, I sang, too!

My ton of See's Candy (9 boxes, actually....1 5-pound, 2 4-pound and 6 three-pound) arrived today.  I'm only recently back from a jaunt up the street to the UPS store to have them shipped to South Cackalackie.

They'll arrive on or about 12 December, the day before I'll get there.

I do love it when potential stressors are alleviated.

Now I just have to wrap and package up a few more things and take them to the post office by Friday.

And then my weekend will be MINE ALL MINE to stress over the root canal I'll be having done Monday morning.

;)

Your family is lucky to have been able to honor your father’s wishes & keep him home.   Most families can’t manage that & keep the loved one cared for comfortably.

Hugs to your father’s dog.

Ask BK:  Does your dear pal Nick Redman have any influence at Fox over which musicals get selected for future DVD releases?

Have you heard ANYthing at all about a potential release of "Say One For Me"?

Memories of fathers:

I remember one New Year's or Christmas Eve...don't recall exactly which it was, although I think it may have been the latter...my folks and I were watching an old movie on TV.

My mom had some green beans in her old pressure cooker (the kind you HAD to walk gently around or the cap would fly off and the lid might, also).

There was some "incident" in the kitchen in the movie...a comedy of some kind...in which a husband had caused a problem by walking too hard in the kitchen (it may be that a souffle or cake "fell").

At any rate, we laughed heartily (such were the "times") and my dad got up to get something in the kitchen.

Suddenly, there was an explosion and my dad yelled.

Beans everywhere.

He had forgotten to "walk gingerly".

We had a good laugh about that for YEARS to come.

Jose:
The Illy "Push ButtonHouse" really is a cool thing.

I couldn’t figure out what to do with the house once you open it.  Do you close it up every time you leave, ;) or build a proper exterior for it?

I always remember the older sibling -- I don't want to be the one to make the older one hate the baby because the baby got the present!

When I could only afford one gift, it was sent to the older child.  The baby doesn't know the difference. ;D

Keith makes the best latkes.  In lieu of latkes Baskin’s Robbins chocolate ice cream beats out Gnocchi’s.  With Skip making them, maybe not.

Nice card JRand.  & thank you DR Laura for the Chanukah wishes.

...

I did, I did!  In fact, my cover was blown as soon as I walked into the theatre.  The cast was just coming into the lobby to greet the audience from the early show, and who did I see first?  Yup, DR Jason, in an exquisite cape that I saw later in the show when he played the Ghost of Christmas Present.  The reception was quite small, but he was one of the cast members who dropped in and we had a photo taken that I'll post tonight from my home computer.

Now, the show.  Because of school closings and delays, many groups did not attend, so the audience was small but very appreciative.  The show was very well done and DR Jason was very busy - in the opening number, he wore a bright red coat.  As the apparition of Jacob Marley, he was menacing.  As Fezziwig, he had to wear much padding and a powdered wig.  As a townsperson, he sang my favorite number, "Guess Who Kicked the Bucket Last Night."  He was wonderful in all roles and I feel honored to have seen the show.  Because of our 1pm departmental meeting, I had to leave as soon as he, as one of the gravediggers, revealed whose grave they'd been digging.  Even though I know how the story turns out, I'm sorry to have missed the finale.  They were to be on a bus by 2pm to travel to their next destination - Monroe, Michigan.

Nope, he has no input at all, other than occasionally making suggestions as to commentaries or extras, but even that's rare.
