And as for rice pudding... LOVE IT!

And for those of you who don't think they like rice pudding, well, you'll just have to get you and your butt-cheeks to NYC, and head HERE.  I've converted many a former-rice-pudding-disliker after taking them through their doors.  :)
Dear Jose, here again you are pushing the sweets!  I don't have a sweet tooth.  No, really, I don't.  I like savory things.  If there's a sweet flavor on my plate, it's to give balance to the salty and the spicy.

Tuesday morning greetings!  If my clock radio hadn't awakened me this morning, the thunder and lightening would have.  It's pouring rain here in SW Ohio and lots of streets are flooded.  Temps in the 60's - weird.

When I voted this morning at about 6:20am I was the third person. When I voted for President in 2004 at the same time there was a line out the door to vote. They (whoever "they" are) predict record turnout today. We shall see.

I'd love some tapioca p-pudding, or whatever the heck Julie Andrews says in the MILLIE movie.

TOD - This is one of our favorite side dishes.  I especially like to cook pork chops in my cast iron skillet, browning them first, then simmering them in water, and letting them almost burn a couple of times (like last night's pot roast).  When we're ready to eat, I pour some of the pork chop juice into the wild rice.  Add a green veggie and you have another of our favorite dinners.

And DH Richard absolutely loves rice pudding, so Rice to Riches is at the top of our list of places to visit on our next trip to NYC.  When, oh when, will that be?

Review: 'Evita' star lacked edge
By Bruce R. Miller Journal staff writer

http://www.siouxcityjournal.com/articles/2008/02/05/entertainment/local/9fe394ff3a2107ca862573e600189215.txt

Here's the review from the Sioux City Journal. Looks like we agreed on the show.

I think this is a great line and is how I felt about the show

"As as result, whole stretches of the show seemed like a Miss America contestant's talent offering -- well sung but somehow wrong."

and Bruce Miller summed it up this way

"Still, "Evita" isn't a nice little show with songs of longing. It's an unflinching look at the price of power and the people willing to pay it.

Wade probably could knock 'em dead as Gypsy Rose Lee in "Gypsy." But she's at least a decade away from finding the passion necessary for "Evita."

Casting isn't always everything but, in this case, it was certainly something. "Evita" deserves a queen. The touring production settled for a princess. "

Good morning!

We have a definite spring day in the works here today. Temperatures near 70 and beautiful blue skies (an Irving Berlin reference). I may sit outside again while lunch is cooking and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine.

TOD:

Rice is probably my favorite "side" of all, and I can't think of any way of fixing it that I don't like. Frankly, I would eat it every day if I could justify such a diet. As it is, I have it about twice a week.

I really love yellow (saffron) rice.

Today I will get back in touch with the Power Rangers who are after the red jewel of Isis in their latest set of adventures. Of course, they must also retrieve the blue sapphire which they lost to the evil witch Miratrix at the end of volume three of their adventures. The goal is to collect five different jewels which make up the Crown of Aurora. They have two (diamond and pearl), lost the sapphire, and must now get it and the ruby before moving on to the last gem.

On a more adult note, I am expecting Blu-ray review copies of two Disney/Miramax films: GONE BABY GONE and BECOMING JANE.

If they come today, I'll watch one of them tomorrow. I have the last Power Rangers set after the one I'm looking at today, so I'll alternate these two films with the two Power Rangers sets over today and the next three days.

All of them come out next Tuesday, the 12th.

The last new HOUSE episode that's available airs tonight. Really looking forward to seeing it after Sunday's excellent episode, the best HOUSE I've seen in months.

Good morning.

Now that BK has a new dishwasher mine conked out. (My dishwasher is SUCH a copy-cat!) There's something wrong with the switch that turns it on. Marvelous Matt knows how to fiddle with it and make it start; I do not. Once it's on, it's fine. But then, if you can't turn it on...I shall be doing some dishwasher shopping today.

I like rice. My favorite is probably bryiani, an Indian rice dish with veggies and a few raisins and almonds.

I believe that's the title of the Sharon Stone feature my bro-in-law assistant edited.

I had a chance to review the SD of Becoming Jane and passed, but now am kind of regretting it, especially since Betsy is such an Austen fan.

This month's Consumer Reports is all about dishwashers.  Think Kenmore.  :)

I requested the set; Criterion has not been forthcoming since it's an Eclipse release. Argh!
