Wow!  I didn't know that The Gospel at Colonus was to have a legitimate DVD release!

Is that better than a high colonic?

So, Mr. Larry Moore, do you know which version of Sound of Music Rodgers & Hammerstein sends out? Do they send the old version and the new version or just the new version? I got the Rebecca Luker revival CD at Academy today and the show has both of Max's songs. Should I also get Miss Martin's version. I know they have made changes to the show working movie songs and scenes into the show but are the changes enough that things surrounding Max are substantially different?

The version that's leased is the original 1960 version with Mary Martin. The renting companies have the option of using "I Have Conidence" and "Something Good" from the film. A lot ofnew productions substitute "Something Good" for "An Ordinary Couple."

BK -

You might consider one of these for your jogs - the cheap version holds only 20 seconds, but you can pay extra for ones with more time.

der Brucer

I got them as stocking stuffers for the Grandlads, and they do work!

Where do you get such a thing - it's perfect for when I'm trying to remember on the jog.

Just browse the shelves of your local Walgreen's.  There's usually a section of "As Seen On TV' gadgets at most locations.  There are also other "memo recorders" out there at places like Best Buy, Circuit City, etc.

Two of my librarian friends just returned from 10 days in Tuscany.  The retired one took a digital memo device with her and recorded such things as the church bells, their tour guide, and her own huffing and puffing after climbing a tall tower.  She's downloading a soundtrack to her digital photo album.  Isn't that cool?

Mr. Larry Moore-

Did Bruce mention when the new recording of ALLEGRO will be released?

I believe it will be in the spring 2009.

Whew!  Killer day #1 is over and I'm about to leave to shop for the cookies and chocolate for tomorrow's brownbag lunch.  The AV for my presentation worked perfectly, thanks to a very helpful young man named Alex.

For those DRs who happen to be on Facebook, if you want a good laugh, look up the group, "Embarassing Old Headshots".  I've been laughing for a good 15 minutes.  ;D

Finished writing the bridge of the new number, and then I finished writing the liner notes for the new CD.  I still have to do the CD credits and the tune stack for the inlay card, which I'll do by the end of today.

DR Ben - I believe R&H only sends out the original version of the show. At least that's what it looks like from their website listing.

When I did the show about five years ago, we received and performed the original version. Since I was playing Max, I was greatly relieved his two big numbers with Elsa were not to be omitted.

I watched Sunday's TRUE BLOOD while I cooked and ate lunch. A wonderful episode, great to get backstory on Bill, and what a horrific shock at the end of the episode! I was flabbergasted.

Before I started TRUE BLOOD, I did watch the portion of the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE episode which I hadn't finished last night. It had to do with a missle the team was sabotaging because they had learned it was going to be stolen by enemy agents.

A young John Beck played a disturbed garage mechanic who kidnapped Dana (Lesley Ann Warren) during the episode.

for DH Keith's computer!

Thank you.  Today we exchanged four-1 megabite memory sticks for two-2 megabite memory sticks.  They should work when Keith installs them later today.

After I finished TRUE BLOOD, I put in disc five of MI and watched all four episodes on that disc. (That leaves me with 3 more to watch tonight).

Among the guest stars in these episodes were the frequently mentioned around here Denny Miller along with John Vernon and Henry Darrow.

So funny how times change. Almost every man in these MI episodes I've watched has sported a very hairy chest: Leonard Nimoy, Sam Elliott, and all the guest stars (Sal Mineo, Lou Antonio, John Beck, Mark Lenard, Chris Connelly to name a few). Today, most men who go bare-chested or show their chests on TV have shaved chests.

Nice photos DR George.  Looks like Bandon was a tad bit windy, just like it usually is. ;D

I wasn't aware Portland has a vegan mall.  Craig is also attempting to become a vegan, so far without much success.
