Did anybody watch LIFE ON MARS last night?

Frankly, I wasn't too impressed with it.

I enjoy time travel movies, but this particular premise just doesn't work for me.

Also, I thought that the Harey Kietel and Michael Imperioli characters were a bit over the top.

Haven't heard back from Bakalor yet re pix.  I can see pix that are linked from the Internet, but not ones that are posted from the computer, and I have no way of posting anything that's on my computer.  Hopefully it's an easy fix and he'll do it.

A bit?? ;)

I watched it and liked (but didn't love) it.  I then went to Amazon.co.uk and read some of the reviews (especially the negative ones) of the original British version, which only went for two seasons.  I knew that there would be spoilers and there were.  If the US version ends the way the British version does, I have no interest in continuing to watch the show. :-\

I miss Jack LaLanne's show every morning and the ubiquitous Hammond accompanying him as he demonstrated all the things you could do with a kitchen chair and broom handle.   Life was so simple then!

However, if you ever find out I bought one of those little jumpsuits he wore, please shoot me!

Now...it's time for me to get ready for work.  I need to wear my "usher outfit" (white shirt and black pants) to work because I'm ushering tonight and I don't have time (actually, don't want to take the time) to go home and change.  Hopefully, I won't get my white shirt dirty.  It's been known to happen. ::)

;)

Until later!

Well...

I need to start getting ready to head home for a few days.  I probably won't head down to Virginia until Sunday, or even Monday at this point, but since I've more or less been a slug this past week, I do have a couple of things to take care of around the apartment before I make the trip South.  Of course, the tidying and organizing I've been putting off shouldn't take all that long, but it's just a matter of doing it.  Nike!  In any case...

My mom will be going in for mitral valve replacement on Tuesday.  The "news" leaked a few weeks ago. However, since my parents were trying not to worry their sons, various messages and "status reports" got mixed up causing a bit of (unnecessary) shock.  I stopped freaking out (almost) about the whole situation a week or so ago, but since I happen to have a break in my work schedule, I figured I might as well head down to Richmond while she's having the procedure.

I had wanted to head down earlier this week, but it turns out that various family friends have been stopping by to visit my parents, and there has been no room at the Inn.  My Dad even called me to ask me where I was planning on staying since all three bedrooms and the Aerobed were already spoken for.  So, I may end up staying with Steve which actually works out fine since he happens to work for the same hospital system where my Mom is having the surgery, so he can take me in to visit when he heads to work. Getting hit with a cold - which seems to have passed - also delayed my trip down to Virginia earlier this week.

Vibes and Prayers....

I watched it and the new Eleventh Hour - enjoyed them both.

Neither show made the mistake of throwing too many character development plot items into the pilot.

LIFE ON MARS POSSIBLE SPOILER

The pilot makes fairly clear that we are believe that he is (or believes he is)still in 2008 and in a coma.

As I said last night, everyone here can post pix from their computer but me.  There's some option in the admin panel that's not clicked and Mark has to do that.

Good Afternoon!

Well, I'm about two to three weeks overdue for a haircut, so, I'm going to venture out now to take care of that.  -I'm really sort of "scared" to see my barber since I don't think it's ever been this long between haircuts. ;)

And since I've been "ShakeShack-Free" this week, well... My barber is on 23rd Street... Madison Square Park is on 23rd... So... :)

Mr. Bakalor has fixed the problem and I can now see the photos Jose posted last night, and I know get the upload box under additional options and all is well with the world.
