Great to hear the casting news, George.

Thanks, FJL. :)

Congrats, DR George!  Always remember to "Listen to Jesus, Jimmy!"  (Or should we make that 'Georgie?')

I'm "just" in the ensemble...actually, I was told that I'll be a policeman and (sort of appropriately) George Washington. :)

I'm trying to remember the name of a candy that came/comes in a box.  It was/is like a Juicy Fruit, only a softer chewy fruit with white sugar crystals.

Facebook has reunited me with my darling (and beautiful) niece, Tracy, who grew up in Wasilla (yes, that one).  Sarah Palin's father was her 5th grade teacher!  Luckily that hasn't influenced her vote.

At least that's what she's telling you :)

DR George - congratulations on getting a role in Reefer Madness and on getting a new couch for your living room!

Thanks and thanks!

Why, you're welcome!

I was just being silly, DR George. Have fun with REEFER MADNESS and the new sofa.

I know, but thanks anyway! :-*

Couldn't you have simply got an air conditioner for your bedroom and had someone give the window a latch? Inquiring minds, ya know.

No, I wish I could've just gotten an air conditioner.  The third floor (where I sleep) is a loft area above and open to the master bedroom below (which I don't use as a master bedroom...it's my TV/stereo/computer room and where I spend all my time).  The top level doesn't have a window, just a skylight that I can't open. :P I wanted something downstairs where I could sleep when it gets too darned hot at the top.

Jose, what new computer?  Did you get one of the new-fangled Macbook Pros?

Nope.  My brother had a "spare" MacBook - the previous "white" model at work, and he gave it to me.  I don't really need the "Pro".  At least I don't think so.  Now, the Airbook is a different story.  ;)

I just bought the black one (I bought Greg a white one last year and don't want to have 2 that look alike!) to use for archiving materials for the Mercer project. I don't think those new ones have a firewire port, right? That's something I need, so I went with the macbook.

Extra storage is always good and it is a good place to stash the pillows and blankets for unexpected guests, etc

You can also stash unexpected guests there.

Well, I cleaned and rearranged the fridge, as well as washed some dishes and did some spot cleaning of the kitchen floor.  Not a bad way to spend the evening.  :-\

Been doing as much research as possible for my notes for the new CD - not much out there, but tomorrow I'm supposed to get some other stuff.

Hi, Sing!

Re: coleslaw (NO reference to DR mentioned above!):
the very best IMO was at Stern's Barbeque, also in LA.

I seem to be thinking a lot about LA today.

Me too....maybe because I'm flying there tomorrow.

bk, too bad the opening night party tomorrow is the same night I'm having dinner with friends in Burbank and hoped you could meet us. The second night is a group dinner with the Mercer team where we'll be duking it out over the direction of the show. And then I go home.

Dinner with friends tomorrow night is at McCormick and Schmick's on West Olive (down the street from our hotel).
The Mercer dinner will be at a restaurant called, appropriately, "Savannah".

I am also known as Switzerland on the Mercer project.

Oh, OK, I thought the new 13" Macbooks didn't have firewire. (I think the 15" does, though.) I probably still would have gone for the cheap one anyway!

We're going to interview Richard Sherman in LA. I'm looking forward to meeting him after being a fan of his songs for many years.

Please don't take this the wrong way, Laura, but I feel about crawdads the way Joan Crawford felt about wire hangers.

Until later!

I have been thinking about buying a sleeper sofa but George's sofa looks like a much better idea!

It would probably be cheaper to buy your own than to move George's to Georgia

No, it was the name of a character played by a young Sissy Spacek!
