And speaking of pictures...

This is the curtain call from Le Damnation de Faust at The Met this past Friday. My friend, Patrick, is just right of center, standing left of "Satan" (John Relyea in the red leather costume and hat). He has on an orange and gold wig.

*And of interest to some DRs... The people along the "top row" are the corps de ballet and acrobat/aerialists who are part of this production. And, yes, the men take their bow clad only in their leather "evil spirit shorts". -And if you look closely at the bottom row, you'll notice the male members of the Met Chorus also without their shirts on. Something tells me that the Tenors and Basses logged a couple of hours in the gym over the past couple of weeks.

**And, yes, the clarity of the HD broadcast next weekend should provide a clearer eyeful.

The aforementioned Hot Chocolate from 'wichcraft in Bryant Park:

*Alas, not the most photogenic concoction, but is sure did taste good. They only had the "regular" (bittersweet) hot chocolate left by the time I got there, but they are offering their usual varieties again this year: Malted Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Spicy, and Basil.

It's actually free to skate - the skate rental costs $12, and the locker is an additional $9. -But if you have your own skates and padlock, then it's a free skate for you.

I went over to Amoeba with a big bag full o' trade stuff - got one of the good guys and got GREAT credit. Picked up the season two box set of Route 66 (I gather season one was transfered in widescreen for some totally incomprehensible reason, but am told this one is correct). Looking forward to watching it. Also picked up the new and for the first time complete soundtrack to Black Orpheus, a couple of Paul Williams early 70s CDs (imports) and a few other odds and ends including a region 2 I Married A Witch DVD.

Well, if the Met HD simulcasts are shown in your area... The quality is so good that they can zoom into someone reading a program... and you can read along with them!

TRUE BLOOD had another sensational episode tonight as we got some interesting information about Sam. Some distressing things happened, too, all fascinating though I am wearying a bit of tempestuous Tara.

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES had some involving storylines that I quite enjoyed tonight. I wish we could have seen Andrew negotiating with the bikers instead of just hearing about it. That would have been a very fun scene.

And I got through about 35 minutes of BROTHERS & SISTERS. Rebecca and Justin's storyline is already tiresome. I figured Kitty's pressing the issue would disrupt things. I'll be eager to see what Kevin does about covering for the senator.
