Good Evening!

Well... "SNL" has been pretty good so far tonight... Paul Rudd is the host... (Cute!)...

Alas, Beyoncé is currently singing... although, it sounds like her mic level is too low, the reverb too high, and the fan/wind machine set too fast.

And I believe my favorite line so far has been...

And, yes, this is a bit a crude...

CRUDENESS SPOILER/WARNING

"...They'll be taking a Journey to the Center of your esophagus"

END OF CRUDENESS

I didn't see anything I wanted to watch on TV tonight, so I primed the ceiling and new drywall in the basement room.  it took 2 1/2 hours, but I'm really glad it's done. It looks good

Hmmm...

So, I'm importing some CDs into iTunes, and I just inserted the disc for the OCR of Assassins... According to the online database, it's apparently a "Latin" album.

Don't think I've mentioned that Juan the drywaller still hasn't come back.  I used his tools tonight and the box of drywall mud he left to patch 2 little areas that he needed to fix.   I don't understand why he hasn't come back. He's called twice to say he was coming and never showed.  I called and left a message but he hasn't called back.  He didn't even clean the tools he left. Weird.  He did leave a nice sawhorse that you can stand on.  I used that tonight too.

Tomorrow I'll clean up his tools and put them in a box for him.  He didn't finish trimming out the little window, but I think it would be better to trim it out in wood instead of sheet rock, so I'll just do it myself.   I love this stuff.

Crawdad shells are a great addition to a compost pile.

Thoroughly rinsed, of course, right?

On THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA, this blonde twit Kim who thinks she's a singer is the Florence Foster Jenkins of country music, completely clueless, totally tone deaf, and carrying a megalomaniac ego supported by no talent. She's so pathetic it's hysterical. If she were fat and wanted to wave a baton, she could the Fat Conductor of Limited Talent and Limitless Ego a real run for his money!

Watching this "important" vocal coach try to tell her all of that without being cruel is quite a hoot.  And her response only showed what a fool she is.

Well... Apparently, her album is supposed to "drop" in a couple of weeks... I may just have to buy that one.  ;D

Me too.  He's really a nice guy. I think he's ok. I saw him driving the company truck for the company he works for last week.  He's a permanent resident, so I know he hasn't been deported or anything like that.  I think he may just be really busy at work (he really is a drywaller, this was a side job) and with his family. But, I'll clean up his stuff and keep it for him.  He didn't leave too many tools, so I don't think he's too worried about it.

So...

When I headed out earlier, I had planned to meet up with a friend for dinner and then go see a movie. Well...

My friend got called into work tonight.  -No prob, I can have dinner and see a movie by myself, and since it was such a nice night out, it would be nice to walk around anyway. And I guess I should go get my movie ticket before heading to dinner.

"Slumdog Millionaire" - Sold Out.

"A Christmas Tale" - Sold Out.

Well, maybe I'll go to the New York Philharmonic to see Gil Shaham - Sold Out.

OK, well, let's see if there are any tickets left for "Madama Buttterfly" - Sold Out.

Oh, well, there's always the Israel Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall - Sold Out.

Well, maybe I should see something a bit more "popcorn-y" - "Quantum of Solace" at the Ziegfeld - They hadn't even opened the doors yet, and the line was out the lobby and out onto the sidewalk... and down to corner...

And that's when the rain started to fall.  Lightly.

But as I was walking up Sixth Avenue, I happened to run into a friend of mine from DC who was up in town this weekend for some auditions.  He was on his way to a show, but we were able to walk together and catch up for a couple of blocks....  Then came the downpour and the horizontal rain.  I did have my umbrella, but...

Since I just happened to be a few feet from The Brooklyn Diner... One Chicken Pot Pie - YUM!!!! - later, I finally headed back home - which is probably where I should have stayed tonight anyway.    -At least the rain stopped for my trip back uptown.  ;)

Back from the wedding and reception.  It was beautiful.

When the minister said, "By the power invested in me by the State of Connecticut, I now pronounce you...married," the packed church of 700 stood, clapping and cheering, and I wept profusely.

My friends have been a couple for 35 years.  What had been planned six months ago as a small, simple "commitment ceremony" grew into a huge marriage celebration, aided by good timing and the ruling of Connecticut's Supreme Court.

It was a good day.    :)

Finished up the ANNETTE series, and what fun it was.

Just finished watching THUNDERBIRD 6...it was fun also, and much better then THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO.

Now I am going to watch RING OF BRIGHT WATER. It is a British film from the makers of BORN FREE.

I may try again to see it tomorrow, or catch a mid-week matinee.  We shall see.

*And after reading the reviews, I was going to recommend that you keep an eye out for it too.

*I'm actually surprised that more regional theatres did not pick up the play for their seasons when the rights were released.  It seemed to go right from Broadway to the SPTs and community theatres.  ???

It was definitely a long day today.  I actually got to work in time to make up the time I needed (because of rehearsal and ushering yesterday).  I went to rehearsal and we got out a little early (always nice).  Then I went to my parents' to put together a little table from Ikea, and then I went to my sister's to help (I did all the work) hang some large pictures and a couple of mirrors, as well as move a treadmill so that my sister could put a mat underneath it.  Then I finally came home and have been doing stuff on my computer. :)
