So...
When I headed out earlier, I had planned to meet up with a friend for dinner and then go see a movie. Well...
My friend got called into work tonight. -No prob, I can have dinner and see a movie by myself, and since it was such a nice night out, it would be nice to walk around anyway. And I guess I should go get my movie ticket before heading to dinner.
"Slumdog Millionaire" - Sold Out.
"A Christmas Tale" - Sold Out.
Well, maybe I'll go to the New York Philharmonic to see Gil Shaham - Sold Out.
OK, well, let's see if there are any tickets left for "Madama Buttterfly" - Sold Out.
Oh, well, there's always the Israel Philharmonic at Carnegie Hall - Sold Out.
Well, maybe I should see something a bit more "popcorn-y" - "Quantum of Solace" at the Ziegfeld - They hadn't even opened the doors yet, and the line was out the lobby and out onto the sidewalk... and down to corner...
And that's when the rain started to fall. Lightly.
But as I was walking up Sixth Avenue, I happened to run into a friend of mine from DC who was up in town this weekend for some auditions. He was on his way to a show, but we were able to walk together and catch up for a couple of blocks.... Then came the downpour and the horizontal rain. I did have my umbrella, but...
Since I just happened to be a few feet from The Brooklyn Diner... One Chicken Pot Pie - YUM!!!! - later, I finally headed back home - which is probably where I should have stayed tonight anyway. -At least the rain stopped for my trip back uptown.
