DR Matthew, what an unpleasant way to begin the day.  At least your losses aren't as bad as they could have been.

DR Matthew, I'm so sorry to hear about the break-in. I hope your insurance will pay for everything.

"People who need people" works better for me in A CHRISTMAS CAROL than in FUNNY GIRL, I must say. I also mustsay that I always thought Mr Magoo was funny and I was impressed that his performance as Scroge was played as straight as it was. Of course, don't forget that I realized my dad during his last year had turned into Elmer Fudd.

I'm just waiting around for my guests.

The damage and loss doesn't come close to the amount of my deductible.  It's all good, everything is repaired, lessons have been learned and we move on.  Thanks for everyone concerns :)  It's very much appreciated.

Good afternoon.  I have just finished emptying out and vacuuming my car.  This was not as mundane a task as you might think.
My car has always been a source of guilt for me.  I tend to let things pile up, tossed in the backseat with the thought "I'll come get it later" and "later" never seems to come.

This is my issue with (not) cleaning my house. ::)

Today's listening shall I think include "The Good Old Bad Old Days". (OLC).
(A DR JMK reference)

My CD/DVD burner died yesterday. I am not happy but it has had a very full life!

R.I.P., Tomovoz's CD/DVD burner! :'(

Starting today this is my new favorite song

And it certainly helps to have the song picturized with cute men.

Back from a lunch meeting with David Wechter - went to a deli in Tarzana that was new to me - it was pretty good.  We spent two hours going over Nudie things, then I picked up a lot of packages, then I came home to the news that CDs will be delivered today, but that somehow some of the inlay cards hadn't shown up (they would not have known this until they actually packaged) - the print house is trying to find them and if they can't they'll have to run them first thing Monday morning.  The good news is that I should have just enough to take care of all the Kritzerland orders and almost all of the store orders - one big online dealer can't pay until the middle of the month, so because of that I'm safe, I think, to ship everything else.  Whew!

Depending on when they get here, my plan is to pack them all up and get them to the post office before they close - if I don't make it, then they'll be there first thing in the morning.  I'll also take the biggest of the store orders over to the UPS Store and get those large number of boxes on their way.  That will be the biggest payment I'll be expecting, so the sooner they get them the sooner I get my dough.

My sister just called. Her first chemo treatment was a couple of days ago, and so far she feels good. Thanks for your vibes! They are working!

I am glad to hear it, Laura.  We'll keep up the good vibes!

DR Tomovoz, my sympathies to you on the loss of your burner machine - which has provided so much pleasure to so many here, over the years.     :'(

Perhaps I should try playing Patti Lupone's "Gypsy" on my PC.  That should be shock treatment enough.  NO I didn't buy it. It is the Lincoln Centre performance in its entirety (I think,  as I could not get further than the first five minutes or so!)

I've just sent my bank account information to a poor widow in North Africa. I'll get her to pass on the information DR  SlapDash.

Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS to DR Ann on her clean up job.  It inspires me to do some of the same...although I have different areas needing that kind of attention.     :P

Today was the first day in I don't know how long that I didn't have anything that I had to do.  I thought I would spend it just lounging around the house (wearing my lounging pajamas, of course), but by noon I was feeling antsy.  I got myself dressed and drove to a Lowes where I purchased a shop vac.  Then I headed to my favorite comic store and then broused in a Borders and a Barnes and Nobel (purchased a calander and a copy of New York mag.)

But now I'm feeling wiped out and I've called a pair of friends turning down their invite to go see BENJAMIN BUTTON.  Tonight will be a stay in nite, perhaps watching the string bands from yesterday's Mummers parade.
