I think my computer has a virus...trojan...something.
I keep getting this pop-up banner saying that my computer is being attacked from the Internet and how should this program (that I downloaded and installed...my bad...but uninstalled) handle it. NOOOOO!! I ran my McAfee virus software that Larry, my sister's boyfriend, put on my computer when he built it, but it never finds anything. Larry said that I should uninstall that and reinstall it from Comcast. Comcast customers get McAfee for free. Since I was only sort of shown what to do with it when he built my computer, I don't really know how to use it. I hope this works. So far, nothing bad seems to be happening on my computer, except for this pop-up banner every 10 minutes or so.
Well, I uninstalled the original McAfee from my computer and when I went to Comcast.net to reinstall the new McAfee, I got a screen "Action Cancelled. Internet Explorer was unable to link to the Web page you requested. The page might be temporarily unavailable." I tried several things and nothing worked. Finally, I called Comcast customer service and spoke to someone who had difficulty understanding me (I had to spell my last name FOUR times), but eventually she got it. Anyway, it turns out that since I only have Windows 2000 AND only 228 MB of RAM, my computer is incompatible with the new McAfee.

I have to totally upgrade everything for it to work, but what that means is that right now, I have no virus protection! I uninstalled the original McAfee and I don't have the original installation disc! My sister's boyfriend built my computer, but it was several years ago. Hopefully, he has something that will work.
