I began my afternoon watching DAMAGES, and another mind-blowing twist and turn scenario it was once again. Thank goodness this only runs a half-season. I'd be crazy trying to keep all the maneuvers backward and forward in time straight. In its own way, it's more convoluted than LOST since there are many fewer characters and a time line much more concentrated than LOST's.

Next, I started on my work project for the day: OUT AT THE WEDDING. It's a screwball romantic comedy: one little lie snowballing into incredible complications for all concerned.

While there were some adequate performances and some of it was kind of cute (gay man finds different ways to help his boy friend lose weight without his knowing), the story is SO contrived, and the lies begin to pile up into such a towering mountain of falsehoods that it collapses under the weight of them. And when all the people who have been lied to show up at the door of the main person who's been lying, well, it just insults the intelligence.

There was a director commentary on the disc and a bunch of Julie Goldman celesbian interviews with people from the movie. None of them were very entertaining or enlightening.

Baby has been singing with me all day, quite sweetly, although his diction could use some work.  He sang along with me as I went through The Fantasticks, but then he began to cry when I attempted some Annie Get Your Gun.  He apparently doesn't care for Berlin.

Try Munich.

The end the afternoon on an up note, I watched episode 5 of MOONLIGHT. This was the one about the teen vampire who seemed more than a match for Mick surprisingly. And Beth kissing him at the end of the episode lent a very determined bit of romantic conflict into the series at this point.

I still have THE OFFICE to watch tonight before prime time TV starts. I'm not sure what movie I'll watch tonight when I go back down. I have plenty I need to clear off my counter.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  DH Richard, DS Rob, and I are home after church, lunch, and a brief shopping stop at Kenwood Towne Center.  We met, after shopping, at the Apple Store, where it was too crowded for them to try to talk me into buying a new MacBook.  Richard and I will go back on a weekday sometime for that.

Okay, lets see if this works.  Here's a clip of Toby "singing" to me.

Hopping off-line now to do some writing and then will head downstairs to clean the master bath and then head back into the theater room for more filmed entertainment.

I finished watching SOUTH PACIFIC, and I must say that tha last hour and a half was much better then the first hour, for me. I was not expecting to get emotional at the end of the film and was reduced to  slobbering, teary eyed goof by the final scene.

If I could find my own Rosanno Brazzi I would consider giving up bachelorhood.

And it was fun to see some actors I know like John Gabriel, Richard Harrison, and Linc Foster....and some in the cast were models from those 1950s beefcake magazines...not that I would have recognized any of them or anything.

I spent my afternoon listening to some McGlinn recordings - KISS ME KATE, BRIGADOON, and ANYTHING GOES - speaking to friends and McGlinn family members and sleepwalking about the apartment. I suspect that in about another two hours or less I will be out like a light for the rest of the evening.

Right now I'm so tired that it's hard to focus, so I guess I'll contemplate some dinner and organize tomorrow.

DR elmore3003 - currently watching Season 2 of The Tudors on DVD.  What happened to Thomas Tallis - did they kill him off in Season 1 that I don't remember?

DH just came upstairs to tell me that the new laminate floor is totally done.  He is tired, sore, and very proud of himself.

Rehearsal was okay.  I gave whatever notes I could, but we just haven't had time to really do anything - so, I gave him the broad strokes of what he needs to focus on, and hopefully when he has the audience, he will.  It's a good little interim act, though, and he sounds great.
