DR Jennifer - There was a similar show like "Star Academie" that ran here in the States last season. Alas, the name escapes me.

Quoth Mr. Reed:

Trust me. Andrew Lloyd Webber is a vile substitute for Oscar Hammerstein.

Please, Lord, don't tell me ALW is writing lyrics now, too.

Uh-Oh!

Adam Lambert's "No Surprise Here" photos are hitting the mainstream - AOL posted a link to the whole photo spread.

Yes, for his new Bossa Nova musical.

When I saw today's headline, I was so afraid it was a Harvey Schmidt obituary and I was quite alarmed.

This is exactly what I thought, also!  I was very relieved to NOT read anything like that at the end of BK's tribute. :D

I dearly love both THE FANTASTICKS and I DO! I DO! Two of my biggest regrets are never having being cast as El Gallo in the former and Michael in the latter. Now I'm too old for either role.

I have the video of I Do! I Do! with Lee Remick and Hal Linden.  Just a few days ago, I made my very own DVD of it!  I don't remember when I got the video, but it looks practically brand new.  It made a very nice DVD. :)

Spoo! I left my winter jacket on the other plane (from LGA). Hopefully, it should be in the Lost & Found in CLT when I fly back through on Sunday.

With a name like John Randall how could he not be devastatingly handsome, I ask you?

Devastating is right! ;)

I can think of several troll Maestros willing to help the career of a devastatingly handsome pit pianist!

Poor Rex! Drunk again? I'd need heavy sedation to sit through Ms Buckley's bellowing.

Curious minds want to know what Mr Reed would think of Tony Trelos - who appears nightly at The Lobster House.

I watched Point of Terror last night, too.....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLk03838Cpw

Well, I give him a 10 for appearance

Pemba, a 4-month-old red panda, recently made his public debut at Sydney, Australia's Taronga Zoo.  Red pandas are endangered; Pemba is the 44th born at the Taronga Zoo since it began a breeding program for the species, a relative of both the giant panda and the raccoon.

re: last night's AMERICAN IDOL.
That would be kind of weird if there were 8 or 9 guys and only 3 or 4 girls in the finals.

If that's where the talent leads, so be it. South of the equator equipment should not be a consideration. I believe the final 36 was male-heavy in the talent category - and so I expect the final 12 to be male heavy as well.

If AI wanted an even boy-girl mix for the final 12, then the semi-finals should have been segregated.

der Brucer

I agree completely. There should be NOTHING in the rules about equal numbers of men and women. It should be judged solely on talent and, in the end, vote tallies from the public.

Drat! I got a late start on today's viewing and have been playing catch-up ever since.

I did watch CSI: NY while I ate lunch.  very predictable murder mystery even though it did have an intriguing premise. Turkey buzzards played a big part in the story, and the scientists were kind of shocked by them. They're VERY prevalent here.

Then, I watched the rest of the bonuses on BATMAN FOREVER which went on longer than I thought they would.

Then I watched BATMAN & ROBIN. The Dolby TrueHD sound is definitely the best of the four films and the one that sounds the most like a modern action film. The picture, while very good, wasn't quite as sharp as BATMAN RETURNS.

I did sample Joel Schumacher's commentary, but I need to go back and get a better sense of it from the beginning.

I don't think the other bonuses will take me right up to LOST, but there are a fair number of them. I'll be curious to see what George CLooney contributes to them.
