I got home from my long morning about 2:30 PM and thought I needed to take a nap.  But then I couldn't go to sleep.  So it'll be an early night for moi.

Here is the song I sang with our pastor, as sung by its composer:

How did DR DAW sing today, and what did he sing?

No solos!

This Joyful Easter Tide [Ledger]
In resurrectione tua, Christe [Handl]
Haec Dies [Byrd]
Hymn of Resurrection [Walker]
Hallelujah Chorus [Handel]
plus three hymns.

Twice.

Yes TD, I saw NO SMOKING as soon as it released on DVD. Enjoyed it very much. Quite a strange film, for sure.

MattH, I watched caught the first episodes of both PARKS AND REC. and SOUTHLAND.

Loved SOUTHLAND....some really good actors in that, particularly Regina King and the guy who plays the rookie. Wasn't expecting the final scene, but that sealed the deal that this will be a show I will watch regularly. It reminds me greatly of ADAM 12, but with more regular characters and it makes a nice replacement for LIFE ON MARS.

PARKS AND REC. shows promise, but it really is a THE OFFICE clone. I will continue to watch it for a while before I make up my mind. I keep remembering that when I rented season 1 of THE OFFICE in order to catch up on the seasons that I missed, and after watching the first several episodes I thought to myself "If I had started out with this show when if first began I would likely have not gotten past the first two episdoes." THE OFFICE really got better in later seasons, I think.

My neighbor above me is indeed in Toronto for Passover. He's coming back tomorrow. The dog continues to bark. Interestingly, the neighbor above the dog is not home so I cannot learn if the barking is also bothering him, nor is the tenant in the apartment next to the dog. The tenant across the hall from the dog, who says he can't hear the barking seems offended that i've complained to the landlord.

Ok, this is for DR Jane, who wanted to see me in my new clothes.  I tried to crop this on Facebook, but couldn't get it to work. I don't have a good photo editor in this computer, so I just gave up and am posting a small version

Fashion victim moment o'the day:  I had to rise very early today to get ready to play two mammoth services.  I put on a sort of brownish-golden shirt and I found a very nice Adolfo tie made of sort of Pollock-esque "blotches", which, while mostly bluish and reddish, had one goldenrod one that was the exact color of my shirt, so I thought it would look great.  When I got to church, more fully awake and in better light, I realized the goldenrod blotch was a food stain.  Oh, well.

I ended up playing EASTER PARADE for mum on her big teevee; we both enjoyed it tremendously.

Easter festivities have concluded and I'm t-i-r-e-d.  Rob and Mary Linda picked up my mom on their way home from church while Richard and I came directly home to get the cheesy potatoes in the oven.  Richard's younger brother and his wife arrived about 4pm, bearing an exquisite cocoanut layer cake from Servatii's and we ate dinner shortly after their arrival.  We visited for a while, had dessert and coffee, and David & Kathy took my mom home on their way back to Cincinnati.  It was a relaxed event and now I'm crashing for the evening.

Betsy and I met in our 30s and have agreed we were either meant for each other or were simply too tired by that time to keep looking.  :)

I think one of the reasons Julieanne and I got back together (aside from the fact that if there are such things as soul-mates, I suppose we qualify) is that we both knew each other's angels and devils and were probably too tired to train anybody else in how to grapple with them.  We had developed a short-hand.

DR elmore I hope you get some sleep tonight.

I wonder if the tenant across the hall likes the dog.  If so maybe the tenant will offer to watch it when the owner isn’t around.;)

Good Evening!

I'm back from a lovely Easter/Greek Orthodox Palm Sunday/Passover/Sunday gathering.  There were about 25 people who showed up, and we all had a wonderful time.  There was some great food: Turkey, Ham, Green Beans, Creamed Corn, Cheesey Potatoes, Fresh Rolls, Salad, and a whole slew of desserts.  One of the cast members even brought some Matzoh Brei and Gefilte Fish.  The Matzoh Brei was good.  I didn't go near the Gefilte Fish. ;)
