Then, I should have plenty of time to finish VERTIGO before I start watching TRUE BLOOD.

And to start the topics - what were your favorite novelty items or toys from your childhood?  Did you ever send away for them, or did you find them at the five and dime?

Without a doubt - disappearing ink.  The kind you could splash on someone's clothes, but when it dried it disappeared.

Note to others:  Diasppearing ink does not work equally well on all fabrics.

I've got a little more writing to do, and then I'll head back down to put the finishing touches on DEXTER viewing before I put the finishing touches on the review later tonight.

Hello, there, m'dears!

Yeah, E&T for months... too much family tsurris. But I have been up at the cabin, and feel serene, indeed. Best of vibes to all for all wonderful and untoward events/situations... Did I hear that Jane has married off the other son??? Jeez, where the hell have I been???

How great to see Penny O posting again.  You have been missed, my dear!

Watched THIS IS NOT A TEST (1962) starring my interviewee Seamon Glass and then watched the wonderful June Kenney/Gene Persson film EARTH VS THE SPIDER.

Both movie gave me goose bumps.

Dearest DR PennyO! I've missed you enormously. Welcome back, darlin!

I'm back from a very good meeting with Brent Barrett and Chris Denny and I am very excited about this recording. Yep, I am!

I was doing my monthy bookkeeping on Friday and I realized that there had been a very substantial withdrawl from my accounts.

Therefore, I guess it is now official.  I am leaving November 12 for a two week cruise of Italy and Spain.  I will be returning home on Thanksgiving.

I hope BK and other DRs will tolerate (not celebrate) my E&T-ness this week.  Family starts arriving for the big doin's on Friday and Saturday.  I shall try to drop by when I can.

Have a great time with family & friends, and Congratulations on this special time in Gabe's life.  I'm sure he will make you proud, not that he hasn't done so already.

Wads of raccoons, as you might guess, party on my deck all night, from time to time knocking on my door to insist I join them - sort of a Bring-Your-Own-Catfood-And-Plenty-For-Us gathering...

A very strange banging on a fence outside our bedroom woke us up at 4:00 this morning.  Our guess is a raccoon caused the noise.

In more cheerful news from our household, Rob's move back home has begun.  His lease expires at the end of this month and since he has only one quarter left at UC he'll be living here after Sept. 1.  It also makes sense, because he's taking classes this fall both in Cincinnati (finishing his BA in philosophy) and in Dayton (EMT certification).  And we live halfway between the two.

Thanks for the welcome back DR JFL.  I just wish I had had time to make it to NY.

New York, I wish I had had time to meet DR Dan (the Man).  I was so close, yet so far.  Every morning I was up around 6:30 & went to bed around 12:30 with barely a moment of rest in-between.

In other medical news, the MBAs at my insurance company think they know better than my physician which cholesterol medication I should be taking.

Are you switching or paying the extra cost?  My insurance always wants to switch me to something that made me sick.  Thankfully I've got generics now that work.

The pharmacy will contact the doctor tomorrow and try to sort it out.  They said sometimes all it takes is for the doctor to document that other drugs have been tried, which is true.  Two others made my hips hurt.

I had to document Prilosec made me sick.  I wish it hadn't since the cost was much less than my Protonix.

Thank you Ginny, Jane, and Laura.  Yes, I bought a new camera, but unfortunately it will have the same inept camera operator.
