Thanks for the info, Larry. There are so many shows that are sooooooo damned long...and there are some that can be broken up into three acts in appropriately places and audience could have a little more of a break.

Then I watched WRONG TURN on Blu-ray. It's the same stalker/slasher movie that has been made a hundred times. Sure, there were a couple of scares, and the gore level was barely tolerable for me (I have a pretty low threshold for being able to stand gore.) Looks like most of the budget went into designing some really grisly make-up for the three cretins who are the killers.

There was a (dull) commentary and a few puff pieces masquerading as bonus featurettes, none lasting more than 9 1/2 minutes and most about half that time.

But at least it made for an easy afternoon.

And I'm glad it was a pretty easy afternoon work-wise because it's been rough in terms of physical ache and pain. This time PT seems to have aggravated some of the nerve endings which were settling down because I was not feeling well at all around 1:30.

OLTL did have good scenes with Kyle and his new boy friend and Fish coming out to his family after years of dodging the question. Of course, that latter storyline is just starting now and has a long way to go, it appears.

Then I watched an episode of NCIS, a good one with a body found in a marine's storage locker in the states even though the marine has just been killed in Iraq. The investigation is to determine if he killed the girl before shipping out or if he's being framed for the murder.

I walked and walked around Reading Terminal Market. A few tastes, a few samples, a couple of notes for tomorrow, and lots of pictures. Oh, and three scoops of Bassett's ice cream.

And a chocolate-covered Whoopie Pie.

A friend of mine just sent me an e-mail of what is supposed to the thirty best pictures of the year from National Geographic. There is no mention of what year these are, so I suppose it could be last year or the year before. It doesn't really matter, except I thought that I had read that National Geographic was going to include the "Banff Squirrel" in this year's photos.

Anyway, great photos, but I think this may be my favorite.

I hope they don't do this to Ben-Hur. What can they offer in a gift box. A replica of tickets to the chariot race? A replica of the chains that Ben-Hur wore in the galley? Don't need it!!

You can get both THE WIZARD OF OZ and GONE WITH THE WIND on Blu-ray from Amazon.uk. without all the doo-dads. Warners BDs play in all BD players, and the price of the two together from the UK plus shipping is cheaper that the Amazon price on one of the special boxes here. Many people are doing this.

Does that mean they are region free??

I have many of his recordings: Anything Goes, Thomas Hampson's Cole Porter album, Sitting Pretty, Broadway Showstoppers, Brigadoon, Kern, Gershwin, Porter Overtures, Annie Get Your Gun (Original Broadway Version), Kurt Weill on Broadway, Kiss Me Kate and Lambert Wilson (I believe people here stated they didn't like it.) There maybe a few others.

I think I said I wasn't crazy over Kiri Sings Gershwin. I just thought her vocal stylings were wrong for the material
