I just spent my last 30 minutes opening the accumulated Christmas cards and packages I had been sent in the past month and it was such a delight to get a card with our DR TCB's smiling face, a card singing "Frosty the Snowman" to me, a card from DR MBarnum bedecked in tinsel and kitsch, the twelve days of the Pacific Northwest, and other delights. I had meant to open my presents and cards this morning but I didn't manage my time well and it was a lovely way to end my day. God bless us everyone!

cilla thank you for the lovely photos.

vibes for the kitties though i'm sure they will be fine.  they should still have extra food & water, right?

I have a fabulous cat sitter.  She got a guy with a pick up truck and  a blade to clear my driveway so she could get in the house.  She couldn't have gotten in without it.  She actually made it there twice today and was going for the third time when I called her. Luckily I live close enough that she can get there.  That isn't the case with all of her clients.  She did leave extra food and water for all of them and will keep trying to get there, but the road she needs to take to get there is closed and the police are not letting anyone get on the road.  I think there's only one that isn't being covered by a neighbor.

We got another at least 10 inches of snow today. It's insane. The snow is over my knees in the driveway that was cleared out yesterday.  Roads are closed.  Snow plows have been called in and they are advising that you shouldn't go out because if something happens, emergency vehicles can not reach you.  It hasn't stopped snowing yet.....think I'll be here for awhile

I watched WHITE CHRISTMAS on AMC HD this morning. The last 15 or so minutes sure to make me teary eyed.

And some of those dancers were sure pleasing to the eye.

Most especially, George Chakiris!  Yum!

Yes, some of the chorus guys in WHITE CHRISTMAS were sublime.

George was also in the chorus of GIVE A GIRL A BREAK which I watched last night. He seemed to be on call for dance jobs at MGM, Fox, and Paramount during these years.

Just got back from seeing UP IN THE AIR

Excellent!

I would say it and THE HURT LOCKER appear to be the front runners for the Best Picture Oscar this year.

HURT LOCKER was okay, but I liked INGLORIUS BASTERDS better.

I haven't seen HURT LOCKER or UP IN THE AIR. I'm going only on which films have been winning all of the prizes for the various critics' groups this month.

I have seen BASTERDS which I found really excellent.

Ah, well, I forgot to log out before leaving to pick up my mom.  She and I had a delightful time watching Improve-Ice, in which Kurt Browning was the best, IMHO.  And I never need to hear the Goo Goo Dolls, ever, ever again.

Shortly after the skating ended, Rob and Mary Linda arrived.  We started opening presents, took a break to eat dinner, and finished presents about an hour ago.  Richard and I took my mom home and now we're all about to crash.

And doesn't Vera Ellen look like she could have been the model for the first blonde ponytail Barbie? Same hair, same face, and same figure.
NO! NO!  She was darling where Barbie isn't.

I caught a bit of WC on the telly a week or so ago and found Vera Ellen's figure absolutely weird looking.  Those stick legs were not exactly shapely, IMHO.

There is something wrong with your set or your eyes if you call Vera-Ellen's legs sticks. She had very developed dancer's legs with extremely defined calves. That yellow ensemble she wears during that fast tap of "Abraham" shows off her VERY thin waist and very developed legs as well as anything she ever wore in the movies.

I spent most of my evening finshing the MIGHTY MOUSE set. The included the 12 episodes I needed to watch plus three Mighty Mouse cartoons from his theatrical career and a 30-minute feature on the making of the series with many of the directors, animators and writers who worked on it along with the irascible Ralph Bakshi. Interesting.

I'm not sure I will finish writing it up all tonight. Since I finished it a day ahead of time, I may just write a little more on it tonight and then finish it up during the day tomorrow.

I channel surfed during the 15 minutes I had left before I came upstairs. I didn't see a single thing on any of the channels that really appealed to me.

I'm finished with my very brief internet surf, so I'll write for just a bit and then head downstairs to bed.

Good night!

If only it had really happened that way....

.Hope all had a Merry Christmas. I spent the day away from the computer. Just catching up after too much beef tenderloin and scalloped potatoes, cran-raspberry dressing (not razzleberry, but close) and all the rest of the great food friends brought to the feast.
What's in the CD player? "The Glorious Ones" goes in to tomorrow as Santa brought it today, along with "Maggie Flynn." And on the DVD player is an episode of "Foyle's War" plus a great many Christmas gifts to come. 'Night all. Will try to be a better correspondent in the future.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!  I sure did!  (though now I'm a bit hopped up on sugar and caffeine while exhausted at the same time.)

Back from a faboo partay at Cissy Wechter's.  Wonderful food, good folks, lots o' laughs, and I even got some terrific presents from David and family and Cissy.  Cissy made her amazing kugel just for me and it was fantastic, as always.  I was actually pretty good for me, and didn't really overdo anything.  The car did start right up, and I think the thirty minute drive out there helped charge it up - when I left three hours later it started right up and, of course, it was another thirty minute drive home.  Maybe it really was because I hadn't driven more than five minutes at a time over the last few days.  We'll see how it is in the morning.

I went to download an ap for my iPhone - as usual it asked me for my itunes username and password - I accidentally misspelled my username twice, then got it right, but I got a message saying the account was disabled from too many tries - so I couldn't do anything, and it didn't give me any way to reset it.  I finally just set up another account, but can any of our iPhoners tell me how to reset the original account so it will be abled rather than disabled?

Thanks very much to DR Laura and DR Sandra for the video.  Now if I ever need to make Floop I know where I can go for a step-by-step visual demonstration.

BK, if your account is disabled you will more than likely need to call Apple customer service to get it reinstated.
