So, I started watching selected episodes from Season One of ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN.

I began with one of my all-time favorite episodes from Season 1: "The Haunted Lighthouse." Great suspense, a real mystery, and wonderful acting by young Jack Larson who conveys fear and confusion beautifully.

I also watched "Night of Terror" (Lois and Jimmy at the mercy of a stone-cold killer, Baby Face Stevens), "The Mystery of the Broken Statues" (a rebus is a key to the mystery), and "The Deserted Village," another favorite.

I want to watch "Mystery in Wax" and "The Human Bomb" for sure before I put this set back on the shelf. Those are other favorites from Season One.

Back from printing the book, delivering CDs and some breakfast at Marie Callender's, which is the ONLY place I could actually get into without waiting.  Yes, there is not ONE single restaurant in the City of Studio that you can get into on a Sunday - EVER.  So, I drove to Burbank and apparently in Burbank they're not quite as entitled or spoiled as they are in Studio City.

I've been doing some looking around to see what review discs I can expect in the next couple of weeks. Of course, Criterion's entire March release slate should be coming fairly soon, but it looks like this week I can expect Disney's release of PONYO on Blu-ray to show up (it comes out a week from Tuesday) since they usually give a week to 10 days of lead time.

The week of release I'll be expecting GENTLEMEN BRONCOS from Fox on Blu-ray. I know next to nothing about this one.

Now I guess I need to put away the already folded laundry, go in and watch THE READER, and then see what kind of time left I'm looking at so I can plan the rest of my evening viewing.

DR MATTH - those are some of my favorite episodes from Season One, as well.

Reading FLIGHTS OF FANTASY really put that crazy shooting schedule into perspective....I don't know how they kept everything straight!

Glad you enjoyed the book.

Vibes for the Uncle Bob of DR ELMORE.

Doesn't everyone have an Uncle Bob?

Yes, DR JANE - I thought Evan had a good interview - certainly coached and not what you would call spontaneous, but gracious for sure.

Here I am with my partner Debbie!  Our routine is done and we have five weeks to perfect it!

I think we can win without a quad!   ;D

I caught the interview with Evan & was very impressed with him & felt he showed true class.  While Plushenko is whining (granted he has been fueled by others) Lysacek offered us a kinder view of Plushenko.

I missed the interview with Weir.

I was never a fan of Elvis Stojko.

Interestingly, Plushenko was interviewd on canadian tv yesterday. And he seemed very gracious.  He didn't even say that he should have won.

I feel so bad for Canadian women's figure skater Joannie Rochette.  Her mom came to vancouver to watch her skate and she died suddenly this morning of a heart attack. :(

Although the big thing here is the US/Canada men's hockey game.

That is what they are showing on the main network.

I read that NBC will not be showing the hockey game (although they will have it on one of their sister stations).

They said it was because more women watch the olympics.

I do get why they aren't showing it. Since they have a lot to cover I don't know that it would make sense for them to have a 3 hour hockey game. It's not like they could cut in and out of it.

Earlier this week they had tons of the $10 Canada red olympic mittens (the ones oprah had). But they are all gone now. Apparently they had to ship them all to vancouver. I find this very odd. I guess there is a huge shortage there.

There was a report re: the olympics that was just on canadian tv. Apparently the US has something like 31 top 5 finishes, which translates to 24 medals. And canada has something like 25 top 5 finishes and only 8 medals. :(
