Der Brucer, in Sioux City they are now planning to go to the houses of the people who didn't register their pit bulls, take them and kill them.  It makes me sick

And who, pray tell, determines what is, or is not, a "pit bull"?  Are they doing DNA testing?

Pits are getting a bad rap becasue they are associated with a large percentage of bite fatalities: if and whn a pit decides to attack, it is more proficient than other breeds. Cockers, Collies, Chows, and Cghhuahuas are much more likely to bite.

Every Pit I've ever handled has been a snuggle-bug.

der Brucer

There is at least one person who is requiring DNA testing. The dumbest thing is they are looking at a repeal of the pitbull ban, but are telling the police to go ahead with enforcement while they debate it.  It makes me want to puke

If they are doing DNA testing then they must be including the Pit mixes.  With all the proven rehabilitation of the "Vic" dogs by rescue groups this is doubly shocking. >:( :(

The city isn't doing the testing there is just a guy who wants his dog tested

Oh-lol.

We are thinking of changing from the picket fence to the two-rail fence.....time will tell.  Such fences are NOT neighbor-dog proof.

And are you still hoping to have a dog again?

Betsy did not have the meds excuse vis a vis the garage, unless ibuprofen counts.  :)  I did joke that for the first time in our long married life my "Marriage Points" were in a credit situation due to Betsy's mistake.  I was reminded that male "Marriage Points" have the shelf life of a nanosecond.  ;)

"...rehabilittion..." or not the "Vic" dogs are still hard to place - many apartment leases and Homeowner Associations forbid them - and Homeowner's Insurance rates can go through the roof!

VIBES TO JMK~~  Did the burglers hit anyone else in the neighborhood?    BTW, have they evere arrested anyone in the murder of your neighbor?

I wonder if anyone else in the neighborhood was burglarized. Or maybe they just hit DR JMK's house when they saw the garage door open. Were the cars unlocked or did they have to break anything/windows?

Tonight I will watch TAR and then CELEBRITY APPRENTICE. No DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES and BROTHERS & SISTERS is a repeat (although next week is a 2 hour show). And they've moved DAMAGES to thursdays here so now we are only 3 days behind the US showing.

Well, the final prayer was from the '28, but the rest of the ceremony was found online by Catherine's dad.

I'm wondering why I haven't read about this in my local news. :(

Oregon kills first California sea lion of 2010 at Bonneville Dam
By Scott Learn, The Oregonian
March 04, 2010, 10:21AM

Oregon's Department of Fish and Wildlife killed its first fish-eating California sea lion of 2010 Wednesday after capturing it by Bonneville Dam.

The department, working with the state of Washington and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, first started killing California sea lions by lethal injection last year.

In 2009, biologists euthanized 11 California sea lions identified as repeatedly dining near the Columbia River dam's fish ladders and transferred four others to a zoo or aquarium. This year, no zoos or aquariums have agreed to take sea lions, ODFW spokeswoman Jessica Sall said.

The sea lion killed Wednesday was one of 64 California sea lions on a NOAA-approved list of animals eligible to be euthanized because they've been repeatedly spotted eating salmon, Sall said. Biologists have seen the animal for the past seven years at the dam, she said.

The sea lion killed Wednesday was named "Lionel" last year by students at Oregon City's Redland Elementary School, the activist groups said.

Good show! Great Public Relations - maybe they'll mount Lionel's head and give it to the Elementary School as a momento.

Big?  There certainly was a quake and it certainly lasted about twenty or thirty seconds and we did have a little movement here in the City of Studio, but nothing fell and even the paintings are still hanging straight, so, at least here it was not so big.

They're saying it was 6.9 centered in Baja, but I've been through a 6.whatever before and it was MUCH worse than this - MUCH MUCH worse.  This was annoying, as they all are, but the worst thing that happened here anyway was that my doorbell chimes moved and rang all by their lonesome and even that was really light and minor.  There have also been reports of - wait for it - water sloshing in pools.  6.9?  Maybe in Baja, CA but not here.

Well, the quake was in Mexico, but I'm sure the Administration will be scolded for poor border control if any damage occurs in the US.

It is snowing.  For 3 days I didn't get out for a walk or hike so we went for a hike earlier today during the wind storm. with light rain.  At least the wind calmed down before the snow began & it wasn't too bad during our hike since much of the trails are somewhat protected from the elements by trees.

I was moving too slow today for Keith but, as he told Sherlock, they had to wait for me in case the cougar spotted recently decided to make an appearance.

That's probably a lot more accurate.  I wonder which organization reported an incorrect finding, unless it really was a 6.9 in which case I just think we'd be hearing a little more about MAJOR damage.
