Good morning!

Finally the temperatures have dropped and it feels more like spring. I'll have to wear jeans and a long sleeved shirt when I go out for my errands later.

The UPS man just a few minutes ago dropped off (finally) the Blu-ray of COCOON, so that will be my work project for today. I plan to take Saturday off and then watch RIDE WITH THE DEVIL on Sunday as my work project.

And a very happy haineshisway birthday to JulieC40 - is that our very own Julie?

Well it is our very own Julie, but probably not the one you're thinking of.  She's my Pops member who visited NYC a few years ago.

I, too, am looking forward to the conclusion of the MEDIUM 2-parter tonight. I'll also watch GHOST WHISPERER and will record SPARTACUS, too.

I liked THE NATURAL when I first saw it, but I can't say it bowled me over that much. The acting was excellent, and the production was first class, but lots of other movie affected me more than this one.

Guess I'll finish up with work in the office and then head down to get ready to go out and do my errands for today. Have a couple of extra stops to make, so I need to get going!

So, I wonder if any of the reviews of "Anyone Can Whistle" and "The Addams Family" will note the similiarity of themes in both shows dealing with conformity and what's deemed normal. Probably not. I was shocked among the reviews to read John Simon's four-star piece on the latter. Probably the most positive review of the lot.

Ah well.

Back to reality. The doctor did indeed blame my health problems on allergies and gave me a shot. Will see if it does anything and if I can return to so-called normalcy.

I'm also going to try to finish an odd little book I found the other day called "Jacob's Hands," a fable written by Aldous Huxley and Christopher Isherwood. Can't really say it's a novel. It's more like a 150-page film treatment written as a narrative. Easy to visualize and easy to see why it was never made into a movie. Yet it has held my interest for as long as I have been able to concentrate.

I, also, visited the spokeo.com site.

HAH!  Ha-Ha-HAH!

What a joke.

When I saw the "source" material, I knew instantly what was what with this site.  They cull their information from surveys and a bunch of not-reliable public domain information.  I seldom submit to surveys and NEVER give out personal information about income or age or anything else that is none of anyone's business.   So...they apparently made up a lot of it.

According to spokeo.com, I'm in my late 80s and live in a $1 million-plus apartment.    It also lists my occupation as military.  And that much was true -- 17 years ago!

I looked up relatives, too.  My aunt and uncle in Johnston SC bought their house new in 1951.  They haven't budged from the site.  Spokeo says they've lived there 15 years.  HAH!   They also say that among my uncle's "interests" is "arts and crafts".   Woo-hoo...my cantankerous red-neck uncle whose every other word is "blue" and who stays glued to Fox News 24/7 is into arts and crafts?   If he knew this info was out there it would kill him.

I opted to click on "Privacy" to have my info removed.  The last item was to type in the code that was displayed to the right.  I did it over and over and over again.  And it never took....it just kept putting up new codes.   Yes, I typed the codes in correctly, paying close attention to caps and lower case letters.   What a scam!

District 9 is terrific.   2012 is DREADFUL.  I usually enjoy the Roland Emmerich epics, but this one insulted every fiber of my being.   Instead, why not pick up "Moon"....a wonderful, very unexpected, and totally satisfying sci-fi film.

I loved the Cillaliz reaction to this very same exclamation in a post last night.   It reminded me of the last visit/last post of the much-venerated BrettySpaghetti (in his third "return" visit).  Bretty thought my one-word posting of "Doody" in large letters was referencing his previous post (which immediately preceded my "Doody" post).  To that he said it reminded him why he kept leaving HainesHisWay.

Ye need thicker skin than that to survive the everchanging moods of HainesHisWay!

Cilla got it right, though.  Assume nothing and just ask what it meant.

Vibes for DR George to find his driver's licence and check book. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

If you don't find your check book this morning will you have to call your bank to make sure that nobody writes any checks (should someone find it).

Thanks and I would have had to call the bank, but MY CHECKBOOK HAS BEEN FOUND!! ;D ;D ;D

It turns out that when I went to Margo's house to get her car, crutches and commode, I used her bathroom (TMI, I know ;)) and my checkbook fell out of my back pocket.  Margo's daughter called me this morning to tell me the news and I'm VERY happy!

Late last night the creative team of the long musical got an e-mail from the co-author of the long musical stating that it did not sit well with him (his favorite phrase) that we were taking a month off, and that he wanted it to be two weeks.  I was the first to respond and I really didn't think anyone's response could possibly be stronger than mine, but the composer's beat me by a country mile.  Needless to say, unless he'd like to continue this journey all by his lonesome, we'll be taking a month off.
