Yeah!  I am happy for you. I know you've waited a lot longer than i have to read this. Hopefully your friend is a fast reader!

Btw, if you can't find a recap and need my book 2 recap i can email it to you.  I found a really good book spoiler site for another book that i had read that i needed a recap of. Unfortunately they don't have this book.

Can't wait to read this one myself. I was 94 among reservations at the library yesterday (about of 30 copies). And the movie of "Dragon Tattoo" opens here Friday.

Wow...can't believe I finally figured out my password. It's been awhile.

I got a shout-out in the notes! *happy dance* AND I get to finally meet Mr. BK today. I always knew it would happen, but I thought it would be in LA at Musso & Frank, or perhaps NYC's Joe Allen, rather than Indianapolis's westside. The venue matters not a whit, however. I'm still unspeakably excited.

DR Ben, JMK, Jane (and anyone else still on here from the many moons ago when I was a regular), could you send me messages with your info so I can make you Facebook friends? That's where I spend most of my online life these days.

Safe journey, BK. :-)

Posting from the airport.  We board in about thirty minutes.  The drive was fast, got through security fast (although I had no idea we had to take the toiletries plastic pouch OUT of the luggage - that was now and a little annoying, but I got it out in time but was so flustered that I forgot to take off my shoes.  Got those off in the nick of time, too.

Cilla, my buck up comment was vis a vis you having a bad day.  I just mentioned the cat guy as a joke, but you had posted about him before my response.  ;)

Also, the new house has walls of windows, so getting a 1 inch high CD case seems unworkable.  ;)

DR FJL - That pic of Jonathan Groff that DR MattH posted last night is from his appearance on "Glee" (last night)... I think.  However... He sort of looked that way last summer in Central Park during The Bacchae. He had his own "pre-show" on the stage of the Delacorte which included changing out of a pair of wet jeans... :)

That's the show! The pic definitely was not from GLEE.

Very pleasant morning and should be a nice day overall. We aren't supposed to have any rain until Saturday.

TOD:

The closest I got to rock and roll was BYE BYE BIRDIE and HAIR during the 1960s. Of course, I still heard plenty of it around the house since my brother was into it and Motown and the Beatles. But none of it made truly firm impressions on my mind. I was too busy reveling in MAME, SWEET CHARITY, and all of the older Broadway shows that had been recorded.

I'll be working on TOMBSTONE on Blu-ray today. Thank you, DIsney, for an almost two week lead time on getting the discs watched and written up. It does make a difference in scheduling my time wisely.

I'll be doing my usual Friday errands today since the grocery store where I go has put items on sale for the week that are usually only on sale on Friday. Since I'm having lunch out today with friends, it means I can have a leisure day tomorrow and not have to clean up to go out.

There are new episodes of BONES and SUPERNATURAL and PROJECT RUNWAY and FLASH FORWARD for me tonight. THE MENTALIST is a rerun but I'll record it anyway. I just love the show.

THE OFFICE and GREY'S ANATOMY are both repeats, too.

I'm getting used to a two-monitor situation at the office. I used to have one screen and since the bloodletting 6 months ago there are many empty desks with unused computers. They (the proverbial "they") said if we want to have two monitors to make viewing easier we can do so. I have a couple of different programs open that have to be minimized at some point so I thought I would try it.

So far, so good. It meant rearranging things on my desk (not my desktop) but it does make it easier. I just have to make sure I know where I put the cursor from the mouse!

I didn't start collecting those until the mid-seventies, when I started getting some pocket money and after discovering "A Little Night Music." They quickly took over, though I still developed a taste for Springsteen and a few others from then.

MattH-  As I'm fond of saying, the camera does indeed add ten pounds - and in most photos of me in the past couple of years, I'm sure I've had five or six cameras on me at the time.

(That's my Totie Fields-like story, and I'm sticking with it.  :) )

That Stasio review that he's cute but not a god reminds me of a review of someone playing Cliff in CABARET that IIRC (I'm going from memory) said the performer sang well and was attractive and likable enough, but somehow didn't seem to have what it takes to be the toast of one continent, let alone two continents.

(I'm sure I have the EXACT wording of the quote wrong, since it's not coming up on google, but that was the gist.)

Thursday morning greetings!  We had a delightful time last night listening to Robert Osborne.  We didn't stay for the reception and book-signing, but enjoyed his stories and answers to questions from the audience.

Today, I've been to have my hair cut and now I'm getting ready to make pumpkin pies for tonight's book group meeting.  Pumpkin was one of two food references I found in The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency; the other was mopani worms and I decided that my friends and family would rather have pumpkin pie.

DR DakotaCelt arrived in Cincinnati last night, according to the message that her husband sent me on Facebook.  She and I will try to connect by phone today to make our plans for either tomorrow or Saturday.

Travel vibes to BK!  I usually say "Wave when you fly over Ohio" but according to his route, flying over Ohio would mean they're off course.
