MattH-  As I'm fond of saying, the camera does indeed add ten pounds - and in most photos of me in the past couple of years, I'm sure I've had five or six cameras on me at the time.

(That's my Totie Fields-like story, and I'm sticking with it.  :) )

I'm telling you, FJL, I felt my face inflate the instant the Department of Motor Vehicle camera snapped for my driver's license photo.

Thursday morning greetings!  We had a delightful time last night listening to Robert Osborne.  We didn't stay for the reception and book-signing, but enjoyed his stories and answers to questions from the audience.

Today, I've been to have my hair cut and now I'm getting ready to make pumpkin pies for tonight's book group meeting.  Pumpkin was one of two food references I found in The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency; the other was mopani worms and I decided that my friends and family would rather have pumpkin pie.

DR DakotaCelt arrived in Cincinnati last night, according to the message that her husband sent me on Facebook.  She and I will try to connect by phone today to make our plans for either tomorrow or Saturday.
As long as you tell your friends that to tried to find the worms but couldn't, then you'll be OK.

The more and more I see the neighbors' cat, the more I'm convinced he thinks he's a dog. He's enjoying being out in the rain right now. And he loves rolling over to have his belly petted. He also comes when he's called. I've never seen these charateristics in a feline before.

Pleasant meeting vibes for DR LULU and MR BK this evening.

Miss Adrienne will be joining us at the theatre Friday evening but will not be with us for dinner....so it will be a stag event tomorrow night.

We ended the McGlinnventory around 11:15, when we had accumulated so much garbage in trash bags that we could not move around the office. I ran my errands, and now I have several tasks to accomplish around the apartment.

Oy, what a morning of complications.  Traffic was a nightmare.  Even getting off the freeway alleviated none of the problems.  Then I went to Borders to utilize the 40% off coupon and a gift card I had, and unfortunately I got a braindead clerk (sorry, TD) who completely messed up the order.  I was there for almost 45 minutes.

Oh....I forgot about Spanky and Our Gang and The Association.

I am surprised to find that I am the only fan of Eric Burdon and the Animals here on HHW.

Good evening, I had a terrible day for so many reasons. Even though I have an amazing credit rating, i was denied on the refinance because they income averaged back to the beginning of my business.  Well duh, you're not going to make money your first 6 months.. Anyway, I was pretty ticked off.  There were many other things that went wrong today,.  I really needed an "It sucks to be me" t-shirt

That sucks!!!

For Ginny:

A projected shortage of canned pumpkin was announced last fall:

NY TIMES

Since the major comerical pumpkin crops are just once a year, we can presume the shortage will continue until next fall.

Darn, now everyone will run out & stock up on pumpkin before I can.

~~~~~TRAVEL VIBES TO BK~~~~~~
*And, as DR Jane, asked/stated, you should have been able to change your seat online.  Or just take care of it as soon as you get to the airport.
He never answered my question so I suspect he didn't see it ;)
Well... Regardless of the current shortage, finding cans of pumpkin purée "out of season" can usually require some sleuthing.  -Just like trying to find cans of cranberry sauce.  -At least in my experience. ;)
Yeah!  I am happy for you. I know you've waited a lot longer than i have to read this. Hopefully your friend is a fast reader!
Btw, if you can't find a recap and need my book 2 recap i can email it to you.  I found a really good book spoiler site for another book that i had read that i needed a recap of. Unfortunately they don't have this book.
Thanks, I may take you up on it.
Can't wait to read this one myself. I was 94 among reservations at the library yesterday (about of 30 copies). And the movie of "Dragon Tattoo" opens here Friday.
That gives me hope the movie might come here.  If so I might go to a theater for the first time in ages.  I won't be taking my name off the library queue until after I have read the book.  I'm 34th out of 74 holds, for one book.  I'm impressed your library will be getting 30 copies.
Posting from the airport.  We board in about thirty minutes.  The drive was fast, got through security fast (although I had no idea we had to take the toiletries plastic pouch OUT of the luggage - that was now and a little annoying, but I got it out in time but was so flustered that I forgot to take off my shoes.  Got those off in the nick of time, too.
Umm.... They've been requiring/requesting people to take their toiletries out of their bags for a while now.  -For at least two or three years now.  I know that some airports are also a bit more strict about placing the liquids and gels in the one-quart Zip-loc bag.
