DR Samantha has agreed to come and help me get my house/yard ready for the RAGBRAI riders who are going to camp out here.  She is SO good at cleaning and organizing and I am so glad she wants to help me.  I told her we'll dine and go out or whatever she wants to do.  I am really glad about this

My question for ASK BK Day.....have you ever seen a stage production of Noel Coward's BLITHE SPIRIT?

Who was in it and what did you think of it?

The first time I saw it was at the Seattle Rep and Madame Arcadi was played by Margaret Hamilton.

Nieces are good helpers - we couldn't have accomplished my mother's recent move without the help of my DN Laura.  Tell Samantha I said HI!

I shop at Petco here. The people who work there are definitely pet lovers and I never see any sick animals or dirty cages.  They have 3 cats from the humane society all the time.  Our humane society isn't a no kill shelter. Petco is.  They will keep the cats until they are adopted. Sometimes it's a day sometimes weeks, but the cats all find homes.

If mine don't get adopted from the adoption bus over the weekend, they go to Petco.

Personally I feel this places him in the front rank of current Broadway lyricists.  ;)

Perhaps you should let him rewrite some of your stuff.

This is for DR Cillaliz.  I believe you saw the movie THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATOO, right?

And you said you just finished the book.  (People who have not read the book and watched the movie might not want to read this) although i believe DR Jane knows this already, it's re: the ending of the book vs the ending of the movie (but does not spoil the main case).

After reading the book I"m curious what you thought of the ending of the movie.  I remember seeing the movie shortly after i read the book. And in the book there is a key thing that Lisbeth sees that makes her want to leave (seeing mikael and erika together).  But in the movie they didn't do this at all.  I remember thinking after watching that movie that this was so weird. Because it was a key motivation for the beginning of the next book.

I thought making money was the motivation for the beginning of the next book.

DR TCB - I'm fine, just seeking information after 2 incidences of DVT in less than 2 years.  Thanks for your concern.

Mom and Dad went to the amusement park where he got a tavern sandwich (a loosemeat sandwich) and a nutty bar.  Two of his favorite things.  My brother and his family were around all day putting the sailboat in the lake and tonight they are going out for dinner.  He's having a lovely day.  I'm going up on Father's Day

What is a loosemeat sandwich?

DR Cilla, were either of the dog bites serious?  If the people can't win Wiggles total freedom they may be able to bargain a reprieve of sorts.  Best Friends might be willing to take Wiggles & the court might agree.  Do you have anyway of letting the people know about this option?

No, the bites weren't serious. I think they have to break the skin to be vicious. The last one wasn't even reported by the girl bitten or her parents. She said something to a teacher who called the police.   There is no reprieve under the current ordinance.  If declared vicious, you die.  The council is looking at revising it.  Wiggles the vicious.  sheesh

I would have been angry at the teacher if it had been my kid.  I feel bad for Wiggles all locked up and scared.

DR Jennifer, I haven't seen the movie so I didn't read the rest of that post.  Thank you for the spoiler.  I have the movie on my Netflix list, but it doesn't come out until July 6

I have it at the top of my queue.  I find they arrive faster that way.  I wish I had remembered to move it up there sooner.

If you are on Facebook, please go to this link and report the page which encourages people to crush kittens to death.http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=45970559862

That is disgusting.

How sick has this world become?

It is so very sad and scary.  Have you signed a petition to stop Crush Video's?  I don't know what the supreme court was thinking when they made Crush Video's legal.

I couldn't even read the facebook page, I just went there and reported it

Did you share it?  So far they haven't removed it.  I think more requests are needed. :(

From the road food site

At Bob’s Drive-Inn, they don’t even offer a hamburger. If you want beef, you get loosemeats. Bob’s loosemeats are definitive. Browned, strained of fat, then pressure-cooked with sauce and spice, then drained again, this meat is moist, full-flavored and deeply satisfying. Each sandwich is made on a good-quality roll that Myles Kass secures from Le Mars’ own Vander Meer Bakery.
