In the "Is anybody watching..." department:

Is anyone watching SyFy's "Haven" based on Stephen King's "The Colorado Kid"?  I'm really enjoying the series.

I didn't even know about this.  It's available to watch on-line, so I'll check it out.

May I just say that a certain PR firm in NYC whose name includes the word "Helper" is laughably UN-helpful.

Hamburger Helper is a PR firm?

Rob and I are back from a fun outing to Dorothy Lamour Lane Market with my mom and the cousins. We had lunch there - everybody made selections from the deli/salad bar and we ate on the mezzanine.  Then we shopped and took Mom and the cousins back to Otterbein.  I'm ready for a nap.

Oh, guess what WAS in my email when I returned!

A bill?

Has anybody here seen this new show on A&E called THE GLADES. I think it premiered 2 weeks ago and they replay it throughout the week (it's on on sundays). I didn't think I would like it. But there was a big write-up about it in our tv guide. And I actually really like it!

We haven't seen it.  I set up four episodes to record.  They are basically out of order with the Pilot on Aug. 8th.  Should I wait and watch them in order?

I've only seen the first 2 episodes. The 3rd one was on last night.  I think you should watch them in order. Because they explain things. And then there are some personal relationships that start in the first episode that continue in the second episode.  And I don't think they'd make proper sense if you watched them out of order.

I think it depends on if you like the lead guy (i really like him). He's a policeman, so there are cases to solve.

Thanks, we will do that.

TOD:

A subject I'm very familiar with.
My weight gain began as a child when I was put on prednisone for allergies/asthma.  When I was 10, I was a puffy little guy:

By the time I was ready to graduate high school, I clocked in at 325 lbs and a 50" waist:

(Flowing graduation gowns do tend to hide the flaws somewhat).

Between graduating high school and starting college, I went on The (original) Atkins Diet.  My waist went from 50" to 32":

After that, I let nature take its course and stayed between 36" and 38" in the waistline, and now I can wear either a tailored 38" pants, or a more comfortable 40" pants.
This picture, from THE SECRET GARDEN, is one of my favorites; I think it was the last time I wore a size 36". . .

I would show you a photo of me the last time I had a 36 inch waist, but Matthew Brady hadn't started taking photos yet.

DR Ron can you tell me which episode follows Butterflies?

http://epguides.com/haven/

1      1-01                09/Jul/10   Welcome to Haven
2      1-02                16/Jul/10   Butterfly
3      1-03                23/Jul/10   Harmony
4      1-04                30/Jul/10   Consumed
5      1-05                06/Aug/10   Ball and Chain
6      1-06                13/Aug/10   Fur
7      1-07                20/Aug/10   Sketchy
8      1-08                27/Aug/10   Ain't No Sunshine

****

I will go on the record as saying that I don't think you will like this show DR Jane.  But watch it, cause maybe i'm wrong. But I think it will be too science fictiony for you.  I think it's too science fictiony for me, although i will probably watch episode 2.

We watch a lot of science fiction. Currently we watching two summer shows, Eureka & Warehouse.  The previews for Haven didn't grab us (I was more interested than Keith)  and then we watched "previously on...." and became interested enough to record the show.

Thank you for the full list of episodes.

DR Jane if i want to know the episodes names for any show. Or when the air date is i always go to http://epguides.com

Thanks.  Usually I can get the order and first aired date from IMDB.  The info on Haven seems to be a work in progress situation.

Thank you DRs Jennifer, td, George and to DD Miss Dixie Bell.

Sherlock is kind of relaxing even if he hasn't stopped panting since returning home.  Once in awhile he whimpers.  He hasn't touched his tail which means he doesn't need to wear a cone on his neck.

He is wearing a bandage which will need to be removed on Wednesday for the doctor to look at it.  There will be a repeat trip to the vet on Friday.  It seems removing a growth on a tail is rather difficult and there are more risks for problems.  This was a deep growth too.  As floppy as Sherlock's skin is everywhere else it is tight on the tail which makes it difficult to work on.   We have been informed without the bandage it will not be a pretty sight until his fur grows back.

I used to know Dennis Miller.  He was a stand-up comic here in Pittsburgh.  Used to play, the defunct, Portfolio on Craig Street in the heart of the college area (Pitt and CMU) of Pittsburgh.

Oh, Lord, what a crazy, busy, but great day.  Orders have been pouring in and Kritzerland has beaten its former one day total for sales (held by the two CD Promises).  And it's only been twelve hours so far.

Had a really nice meeting with the singer and she asked if she could hire me and I said yes.  I think we'll have a good time creating a show for her.

Then the helper came and we had about forty packages to ship out, including two huge orders.  She then programmed all my phone book numbers into my home phone, which will be very helpful.  She'll be back tomorrow to address the packages for Romantic Comedy - not that many to address, sadly.

Then Barry Pearl came over and we went to Mo's - this idea for our autograph show, the first annual film and stage musicals con is really looking interesting.  We came up with about fifty celebs that we feel we could absolutely get there, and there are some pretty big names.  We'd have certain film casts all together, like Grease and Nudie Musical and stuff, and we'd try for some of the High School Musical kids to bring in some younger folks.  We won't charge twenty bucks at the door, and dealer tables will be half the price that they are for the other show.

Plus we'll offer every CLO and musical theater group a table (reasonably priced) to hawk their season subscriptions, and we'd have entertainment - either throughout the day, or directly following our five o'clock close.  Next up is finding out the venue cost.

catching up on the last two days.

Great article by Steven Suskin. Has it generate sale for any of the other titles? I was surprised to read that Evening Primrose did not sell out since it was Sondheim and the first release of the complete score.
