Jrand - not really - don't know the author at all and no DJ on the book.

As if to prove my point exactly, someone posted on the All That Chat board that they thought South Pacific would be MUCH better if it started with the seabees and There's Nothing Like a Dame (only it wouldn't start with that - it would be Bloody Mary).  As I said the other day, that's exactly the way Musicals 101 would say it had to be.  And who did the post?  The gal who wrote the Stephen Schwartz book - Mr. Schwartz being one of the crafters of Musicals 101.

Of course, someday it'll go into public domain and people will be able to do anything they want with it...and then they'll see that they're wrong. :)

I've seen several productions that have tried to switch the opening of South Pacific and it never works.

It's currently pouring rain in Manhattan.

If I could send it to Arizona, I would do so.

And we would gladly accept it!

Hello, everyone.

I see that several DRs are having a busy day today. Productivity vibes to those who are, and relaxation vibes to those of us who don't wish to be--busy, that is.

Today I plan what to do on my trip to San Francisco.
I have never been there before. So I will do a lot of the touristy things: Chinatown, Lombard Street, Alcatraz, Haight-Asbury, The Castro Area. I hope I don't run out of time.

Of course I would like to do some things that are not usually found in AAA or Frommers or Eye Witness travel guides

I'm pretty sure photographing carpets is not in either travel guide.

Bruce, I was wondering if you still had copies of the Trotter Trio's "Passion... In Jazz" album. Apparently, mine has disappeared, and it's my favorite of all the Trotter Trio albums, and thought I would come to you first, before trying to find it used on Amazon, etc.  Thanks!

divarobbie, will you drop me an e-mail about it - I'm sure I have some in the garage here, just need to be prodded to go look through the boxes.  That's my favorite of the Trotters, too - the first and never bettered - it was just the right album at the right time and the right and perfect sound.

Wow, eleven USERS - haven't been that full in a 'coon's age.  One of them is DotM.  The real question regarding the latter is do we wait for trouble or hope there won't be any or nip it in the bud?

There is just the outside chance this person is not our very own semi-beloved 3D.  Just sayin', as someone used to say.

Drive or walk over the Golden Gate Bridge, visit Fort Point & the Presidio  http://www.nps.gov/fopo/

Years ago we went to a small old west prison in Wyoming and that was enough to give me nightmares.  I have so far avoided Alcatraz & have every intention to continue doing so.

Chinatown isn't what it used to be or I didn't realize how tacky it was when I was younger.  I don't suggest eating there unless you have a good recommendation.  Avoid the overpriced touristy places.

Have fun.
