So, the plan was that I was going to play piano at the Sunset Blvd auditions on Saturday, which I was fine with.  At the production meeting, the director (whom I love) said he wanted me at the table with him, which is a luxury these days.  So now I'm trying to find a pianist I can trust to play the auditions, and I need to pay them out of my pocket as I'm tapped out already with my musicians budget.  It's not the money I care about because I don't mind paying someone, but do I break my back trying to find someone, or do I just call my top 3 people and if that doesn't pan out, do it myself.  The director understands the situation, of course.  So I guess I'm off to email contestant #2 - and that's another thing, how long do I give contestant #1 to respond?  I emailed last night.  I might give him until noon.  In this day and age, if you are looking for work, you should be able to check your email at the drop of a hat.

And a grand birthday wish to DR Jose, my one time cyber husband, I am beside myself with joy that you are back (as oppose to being front).

Now, about that alimony....

We've been having some network issues here, but seem to be OK now.

Matthew, if the director wants someone else to play the auditions, HE (or really the company) should pay for it, not you!

Yes, I realize that.  However, I'm budgeted to the gills for this show.  The director and I did agree to split the costs.  However, the question is do I break my back finding someone or just let it go.

Spoke too soon about our network issues being resolved.  DS Rob is getting very frustrated!

Yesterday, John G. wrote about my post about Ken Mehlman (and me not knowing anything about him):
Quote
Except that he's denied it for years, though former boyfriends or men with whom he has had sex have come forward to dispute his former claims that he was straight.

I know George doesn't judge, but since I'm not Christian (or any other religion) I will,  ;)

Ken Mehlman is a slime bag of the highest order and he has LOTS and LOTS of 'splainin' to do.

Just saying "I was against it" isn't enough. He was part of the problem, especially in 2004 and he helped promote the hate mongering and gay baiting  that has been stock and trade of the current Republican party.

The slime bag will get no love from me. He can sit in his $3.7 million Chelsea condo alone for the rest of his life. All of a sudden he's "for" marriage equality" What, did he meet someone?

Slime bag!

Ahh...thanks for the info, Ben and John...I guess.

Welcome back, Jose! ;D

DR Ginny thanks for asking about Sherlock yesterday.  He feels fine it is all he can't do and the twice weekly trips to the vet that are hard on him.  I'll give an update when we return from his appointment tomorrow afternoon.  We can't see until the bandage is changed.

And now... Well... Hold down the fort, DR JRand...

Laters...

Don't be gone long, DR Jose! I'm happy to see you back with us today. I hope you are having a splendiferous birthday.

I am back from seeing "The Other Guys" with my beloved goddaughter Charlotte, who is prettier than ever and so dear to my heart. As to the movie, I laughed. A lot. There are funny comments about ponzi schemes, government bailouts, outrageous sightgags and lots of raunch. We had a good time.

Oh....and Happy Birthday to DR JOSE.

And I am off book - didn't use it at all last night and made fewer  than half a dozen errors that had to be corrected.
:)

You look very dashing on your birthday.

From Bruce:

Now, someone better get me off this damn page, and we'd better get us a frenzy or three going, or I will have to ask the "where's Jane" question - even though I know she has company

Instead of threatening to ask the "where's Jane" question why didn't you answer the questions from Jane? :)

The Jury is out....they have been for about 1 1/2 hours.  They decided they will deliberate until 8:00 PM (Assuming they don't have a verdict sooner) and then will come back in the morning.  So I'm here at the office until a verdict is reached or 7:45 PM (when we are to report to the courthouse) whichever is sooner

I'm not going to go home over the weekend.  I was only planning it for awhile.  There are a few things I want to do in town this weekend and after this week it won't be out of the frying pan and into the fire...I'll stay here

I can't think of anything else I could have done in this case. That's the best feeling I can have at this point in the trial

Thanks, DR Jane - this was pretty routine, so I'm not expecting anything earth-shattering.

We had much excitement this morning with reports of witnesses conspiring in the holding cell at the federal building.  Gotta love it when that happens
