I'm going to go a little crazier with the CDs. I've got too many classical CDs, and how often do I listen to more than one recording of COSI FAN TUTTE?

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We are back quite early from Lima - no after-church meetings or shut-in calls.

Just yesterday I'd told Richard that sometime during October I'd have to eat a pumpkin doughnut and the person providing coffee-hour refreshments today included them on her menu.  She'd cut all the pastries in half, so I had half a pumpkin doughnut, my first bakery sweet since August 2.  It was good, but half was more than enough.

Try *reviewing* the seemingly monthly releases of COSI on Blu-ray.  ;)

DR Jennifer - Pumpkin Pie! YES!! -Were they giving out samples at CostCo so that you could try it, taste it?  -Have you ever had Pumpkin Bread? or, since they seem to be everywhere now, a Pumpkin Whoopie Pie?

No they were not giving samples of pumpkin pie. They were giving samples of apple sugar pie.  I don't think i've ever had pumpkin bread. AndI know I have not heard of pumpkin whoopie pie.

I managed to last through a 40 minute bike ride. I really wanted to do it even if I had to bike slower (since I didn't bike 3 days this week). It wasn't bad. But it was a bit windy on the way back. So it was a bit hard for the last 10 minutes.

We just returned from our half-hour walk around the neighborhood and, while it may LOOK like fall, it FEELS like summer.  Especially in the sun  8)

I've been watching the new DVD of FAUST from the Royal Opera with Bryn Terfel; it;s set in the 1870s, not the 1859 premiere date or the traditional medieval Germany, and some of it's quite good. I'm not sure about the "Cabaret d/Enfer" that ends the Kermesse Act, since we've gone from a street fair to another Eurotrash redo of CABARET.

Just catching up with "Crazy Heart" this afternoon. Great acting, great music, lousy script.

I agree. I had been looking forward to seeing it, but found it weak and underwhelming.

Would one of our DRs with a large classical music collection recommend a CD of Pachelbel's Canon? Mine is in storage and I see quite a few recordings to choose from. Larry? Jose? Anyone?
