Yesterday, Druxy posted this:

I had a great book signing today, the best I've ever had in a bookstore.

 :)

Among the attendees were Diane McBain, Bridget Hanley, June Wilkinson, Gigi Perreau (who I haven't seen in 40 years), plus Mr. & Mrs. Marvin Levy (he's Spielberg's personal publicist) and several others.

Catching a 10 am flight back to Austin tomorrow.

Congrats on the successful signing and...

Has it been mentioned here that our own DR Julie (Julie Miller)  is now the Vice President of MAC, the Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs?

Congratulations, dear DR Julie!

Good morning, all! I guess the frustration over the Oaf Above Me carried over to my sleep last night, since I had dreams about dissension and frustration. I went to bed at 9:30, woke around 12:15, and slept until 6:30. The last thing I remember dreaming about before the alarm went off was LIFE BEGINS AT 8:40, my most unsuccessful venture of the past several years. Now I've got one of the damned songs from the score stuck inside my head and it won't go away.

I'm waiting for the laundromat to open. This is my last morning to do laundry before I'm inside a recording situation for the bext four days, so I've got laundry, and, while the clothes are washing, a trip to the market. While things are drying, I'll take my walk, come back here and begin making tuna salad. After the clothes are put away, vacuum the apartment. At noon, I have to head to Toyland for an editing session, and this evening I'm having dinner with Bruce Pomahac and John McGlinn's executor. At some point I have to sort my music for the sessions this week.

As for the TOD, I love Indian food; I guess it's the most "exotic" cuisine I've tried.

I've Got Laundry - wasn't that a Goodson-Todman show on CBS on Tuesday nights?

DR JOSE and DR CILLA LIZ are correct......my post should have said "non elimination" rounds.....but since they didn't mention the word "spoiler", they did not incur my WRATH........

I too enjoyed MAD MEN last night.....although I am not sure where the promo "Don & Peggy both get tempting offers...." came from......

Harry was around for awhile - I like that actor....and Peggy and Don and Pete all had nice scenes....as did Christina Hendricks.....I like what Betty's husband said to her.....although I didn't like a particular coupling and uncoupling.....it would be great if when we get back next year, the actual event has gone the other way.....we shall see.

TOD:

I don't eat such things....but I shall enjoy reading about them.

Last year I bought some Wasabi Trail Mix.....because it looked interesting....and through a handful into my maw....and WOWZA!!!

The result was much like MR BK's experience with Indian food.

Well, I'm glad I've been getting good nights of sleep because even though I was in bed at eleven I don't think I actually fell asleep till one and then I woke up at five.  Oy and vey.

TOD:  I don't have a particularly exotic palate...I won't be eating squid or oysters or any seafood really, and most Asian food has to be very basic meat and rice dishes.  As for things like rattlesnake or sheep's testicles, no thanks.

But I do love Indian food.  Bk, when The Lovely Wife first came to LA, she made the same mistake you did when I took her to an Indian restaurant.  She thought she could do "very Spicy" and didn't know what that meant in terms of Indian food.  She is still not particularly fond of Indian.  But I like many of their chicken dishes...tandoori, tikki, marsala...and I also love the Lamb and some of the curries, lentils, the na'an bread, and the onion baji (??spelling).  Unfortunately TLW doesn't much care to go to Indian restaurants, so I either have to do it with like-minded souls or by myself...usually when I'm in London, where you can even get microwaveable Indian at your local Tesco's or Sainsbury's.  There used to be a place in the Glendale Galleria food court that served Indian that I used to go to all the time.

I will say that eating tandoori tikka is very good for the diet - very low-cal - one chicken breast, a little rice and I didn't use any sauce.

Seven minutes to announcing new title.  Then I'll probably go back to bed for a couple of hours.

I've had a delicious scrambled egg on 15-grain bread with alfalfa sprouts and low-cal ranch-bacon dressing and taken my meds and vitamins. I didn't get to my walk, so I think I'll do that around 11 on my way down to Toyland. It's a beautiful day outside.

Monday morning greetings!  Quiet week here, which is fine with me.  I have cardiac rehab MWF and my book group meets on Thursday for our Southern Women Writers Roundtable - I'm reading Mary Lee Settle's Choices.
