Has anyone heard this 3-disc compilation of Kay Thompson? I'm reading Sam Irvin's new biography of her.

Sam Irvin, incidentally, was the man responsible for getting me into recording. He was producing a mystery film around 1982, and my friend Jimmy Simpson, best friend of Valerie Mahaffey, kept telling Sam that he should hire me to do the score. I lost the job because I had no sound studio experience and Sam told me that he couldn't waste time and money on a novice. I started working with Ben Bagley immediately. Sam owes me one!

On another tangent, where is Jimmy Simpson now? I haven't seen him in 25 years.

On my social calendar, I will have dinner tonight with my friends Alan and Liliane Freeman. DR Ginny, what are you and Richard doing Friday night?

For my first day of cardiac rehab phase 3, I've done my stretching routine, walked around the basement for 28.5 minutes, and done my handweight routine.

On Friday at 4, I am meeting with the realtor I spoke to earler in the year. I'm hoping that Jo will come with me, but I am free after that.

Excellent!  Why don't you come about 5 or 5:30 and we'll take it from there.

I had to put in -.21 (negative) to get it close to my actual time.

How do I tag someone on Facebook?  Do I have to make a photo album on my page & then tag them from that?

Since it was Friday night Betsy lit the Sabbath candles for us.  JMK had recently purchased the dishes that made the dinner extra festive.

OH!!!

Mr. Peanut Is Gay!

;D

My Gaydar told me that years ago!

I am back from the maladroitly named "Middletown Mall," which is to shopping centers what I am to Marie of Roumania. Neither jeweler carries watch bands so I must wait until I return to Manhattan. I did find a quilt I liked and purchased it.

Then on my way back to Randy's, I drove through what was in 1960 the thriving metropolis of Middletown, OH. I counted a grand total of five people on Central Avenue, the main street through a deserted town. Very sad.

I remember the Middletown Mall. About the only thing I ever bought there was a longneck for lunch.

Jane, I do want to be rude by pointing this out, but there seemed to have been snow in those photos you posted or some sort of white stuff.

That's just not right.

It got into the mid-80s here again today. Now, that's right.

John I wish we could trade.  There was a lot more snow this morning and it is snowing again now.  I bet Craig wishes we had asked him to walk to the mailbox earlier.  He needs waterproof shoes.   I would have gone if I could walk.

DR elmore - I can't remembered if anyone answered this for you, but...

Ping is iTunes new-ish Social-Music-Network thingy - yes, that's the technical term. If you happen to sign up for Ping and want to share your music choices with your friends, then you can click on the Ping button to do so.  Otherwise, just ignore it.

School has been canceled for tomorrow due to predicted cold temps and ice.  Chances are it will be a record breaking cold day.  I'm not sure if we broke any records today.

Just poking my nose in here to see if anyone has heard from TCB.  We're having VERY low temps around here and some parts of Tacoma have no power.  I can't find his phone number to call him.  Hope he's ok!

Does anyone have Tom's phone number?

I got a call from Judy, my new supervisor at about 8:00 a.m. today...the entire library district is closed!  No work and we can use Emergency Leave!  She said that she had called a couple of other people in my department and only didn't have the phone number for one other.  I called that person and everyone was notified.  A couple of people actually went it to work (they both get to work at 7:00 a.m.) and I got called after that.  I'll try to get up earlier tomorrow to check my work e-mail.

WOW! Even Sean Hayes will be out of Promises, Promises tonight due to a sinus infection:

Sean Hayes Will Miss Nov. 23 Performance of Promises, Promises

I wonder if he's been lurking here on HHW? ;)

*This will actually be only the second performance he's missed since they opened. He also was out of this past Sunday's matinee.

Anyway, about 10 minutes after I got the call to not come into work, my dental hygienist called, asking if I wanted to come in early.  My appointment was for 11:00 a.m., and all her morning appointments cancelled.  I was the next one in.  I said that I'd get there as soon as I could (I hadn't even taken a shower yet).  The drive in was quite easy, except that my washer fluid nozzles were frozen and there was a lot of debris caking up my windshield as I drove on the freeway.  I could barely see! :P When I got to my dentist's place, I backed into the parking spot so that the front of my car would face the sun.  It worked!  The sun melted the washer fluid nozzles enough that I could wash my windshield. :D
