I don't think we have had any party crashers - although we could use a few right now since not one person has arrived, which is a first.  Usually a few of us are already pigging out.  I blame Jose.

My niece left a cookie she made for Santa.  I told her to leave it on the table. But she wanted to put it on a stool by the tree so he wouldn't miss it.  She put it on a napkin and wrote "To Santa, Love Megan"...

TCB, if you got Mr. Greensleeves there for Christmas, he could make your shrimp dip for you.

Great thinking on your part, John G.  Now I just need his phone number.

Just finishing up "Mr. Magoo's Christmas Carol" while taking the second pie from the oven. All is right with the world.

IMHO, MR. MAGOO'S CHRISTMAS CAROL has the scariest Ghost of Christmas Future.

And Razzleberry dressing!

I have been feeling quite nostalgic today.  I just "Google Street-Viewed" all the old houses we lived in while I was growing up.  That's a little scary.  :)

By the way, has there ever been a version of "Greensleeves" that actually includes the word greensleeves?

Loreena McKinnett sings it here, and Greensleeves is part of the chorus.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HVe68Ckx_4

Chorus:
Greensleeves was all my joy
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves was my heart of gold,
And who but my lady greensleeves.

Yes indeedy! The original refrain of the song is this:

Greensleeves was all my joy,
Greensleeves was my delight,
Greensleeves wasmy heart of gold
And who but my Lady Greensleeves?

TCB, if you got Mr. Greensleeves there for Christmas, he could make your shrimp dip for you.

I think that Mr Greensleeves would make TCB's shrimp do more than dip; he'd make DR TCB's spirits rise.

I have returned from a delightful Christmas Eve celebration with DR fjl, Skip Kennon, Skip's agent Pat, her daughter and her daughter's friend. The Kennon-Landaus were terrific hosts, the food and drink were plenty and very delicious, and I'm tipsy. My critics would say I'm drunk but I know I'm not that. I do feel good.

Skip made a fantastic meal: delish roast beef, a wonderful pork, mac 'n' cheese that was extra special, and a fantastic salad. Desserts were a fantabulous apple pie and a chocolate something that I took home for tomorrow's treat I hope I didn't forget something. It was a glorious way to ring in the holiday.

and so to bed!

Somehow the candlelight service isn't quite the same with battery-operated candles.

But the fire marshall is happy.

We still light candles, but this year (at my suggestion, after having seen these at several Bar Mitzvah and/or Mitzvot) we gave the kids little finger lights so that they wouldn't burn themselves on dripping wax.  The kids at the 5 o'clock service were out of their minds with excitement over the lights, which we let them keep.

DR Jane - As for a WiFi booster, one of the easiest and cheapest is an Apple Airport Export.

-And I hope your DSL modem is just taking the night off for Christmas.
