I like okra. It's too expensive out here to buy, though.

Okra should only be eaten in Gumbo.

Amen!

I'm looking forward to it. I've heard great things. It's at the Mitizi Newhouse, a small Off-Broadway theatre. It's supposed to move to Broadway next season (there are no theatres available for the end of this season) but I want to see it now because there is no guarantee that the cast will be the same and it will be a different show in a bigger theatre.

But will it be cheaper seeing it tonight?

I called my sister in Joplin, MO to see how they are doing.  They have over 18 inches of snow and are really having fun having a snow day.  DN Jon is home with his parents and they are cooking, making smores over the fire in the fireplace, doing jigsaw puzzles and having a wee of a time.  They have shoveled the driveway three or four times.  Not sure why, they don't have plows so once they get to the end of the driveway there's no where to go, lol

My sister talked for an hour....yikes!  I'm not used to phone calls that last that long anymore.

I cut up the okra and dredge it either in cornmeal or flour with salt and pepper and then fry it in olive oil on the stove. Yum.

I planted okra last summer, but zucchini came up instead.

Someone was asking about David Adam Moore the other day. Here's a bit of him singing Figaro's entrance opera from BARBER OF SEVILLE:

abnd another section with a strange camera angle:

I found nothing wrong with that camera angle.

I was waiting for someone's comment and I didn't know if it would be yours or DR MBarnum's.

This is not directed at anyone on this site, but I know so many vegetarians that it seems like all the foods they eat seem to be in the shape of meat.  Vegetarian sausages, vegetarian hot dogs, tofurkey.  Why don't they just eat vegetables as vegetables.

T.O.D.

I love most vegetables.  I am not a big fan of the squash family, but I will eat them.  I don't mind the chef putting okra in their gumbo.  Hell, even Campbell's puts okra in their gumbo.  I admit to being unschooled in Brussels sprouts.  All my mother ever did was boil the suckers.  I was not impressed.

I want to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday yesterday.

I tried to connect to the internet but I didn't have WiFi, but I did try through by cell phone and that didn't work either.

I cut brussel sprouts in half and either put butter or butter buds - if I'm on a diet- on top of them then put in a dish with a little water in the microwave.  Cover and cook til I think they are done. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.   I have some in my fridge right now.  Should have had them for dinner

I like almost all vegetables.  Not fond of beets, but would eat them in a pinch I guess. It's more the smell of them that I don't like

If you gave up eating meat would you want a substitute for it?
