I left our production of CHARLEY'S AUNT to do the role of Pickering in MY FAIR LADY.  On my last week as Spettigue, I changed the blocking slightly, in my romance scene with Babberley.  Just before my exit, I grabbbed Babberley, bent him backwards, and planted a lip lick on him.  The audience went crazy.

Are you going to the shows tomorrow, Larry?

I'll be at part of the matinee, which I'll watch backstage.  I want to hear the talkback after the show.

The NYT review was wonderful: http://theater.nytimes.com/2011/03/19/theater/reviews/wheres-charley-an-encores-revival-at-city-center-review.html?ref=arts

The other one I read, on Theatermania.com, was less enthusiastic, though the writer liked the score.

And your co-star? Were his lips locked?

My co-star is a pro, and he just went with it.  Actually he is now working with George in CANNIBAL - THE MUSICAL.

Tonight the Vixter and I went to see a production of Cabaret at a local Equity theatre.  We ended up in the second row in a nearly sold out house.

The show was extremely well acted and sung - the supporting actors made up the orchestra and they could PLAY!

The show was very very disturbing though -  I had never seen the play before - I had only ever seen the movie - th eplay is so much darker and the way this one ended was particularly moving

It provoked a deep conversation on the way home

It's three and a half hours long, with commercials.

I would guess that it's not edited for length...language, yes, but not length.

I've never seen it before and it's a great movie.  I think I may have to buy this.

I remember that the books were originally released in six short volumes.

Stephen King said that they'd never be re-released in a single volume...but they were.
