Sherlock & I walked in the pouring rain this morning. After we returned home I rushed to get ready to go out again and pick up a friend for a lunch date. As I was leaving it began snowing alternating with rain. While I was at lunch Keith attempted to reach me to tell me to get home. We had several inches of snow on the ground and he was in a white out. Fortunately, for me not him, I couldn't hear my cell phone as the music in the restaurant was too loud. He called before my friend asked them to turn the sound down so we could carry on a conversation. By the time we left the sun was out and the day continues to be beautiful.

Thanks to DR MBarnum mentioning Indian food we went to the Indian restaurant for lunch. While it kind kind of satisfied my craving the food there is just ok and it will be awhile before I return.

I know I'm in the minority on this, but here goes:

I just finished watching BLACK SWAN...and I did not like it.

Yes, the actors are terrific and Natalie certainly deserved the Oscar, though I would have preferred it go to Annette.

Why didn't I like the movie?

Aside from the overly graphic scenes of her self-mutilation, I never really cared about Natalie's character.

She was such a screwed up, lost, weak sister from the very beginning of the movie that I could find no reason to root for her.

Unlike Mickey Rourke in Darren Aronofsky's last film (THE WRESTLER), she never had a chance.

Anyway, for what it's worth, that's my opinion.

After I wrote my last post, I remembered that I had a dinner with put oftown friends at 5:30 in the theatre district. I hauled ass out of here, got to a bank and some money, got an express subway to 42nd Street and was only a few minutes late. After dinner, I walked up to City Center and watched Act one of WHERE'S CHARLEY? backstage. The reviews are amazingly good, and i'm really happy for everyone involved.

Yes, DR TCB, Lord Babberly and his love interest are cut, which makes Charley's role one long switcheroo of disguise. Rob McClure is wonderful as Charley, although I wish Doyle had allowed more of the slapstick between Charley and Spettigue; Ray Bolger and Horace Cooper are really funny in the film with lots of slapstick.

And now, to bed.
