We will be leaving soon to have dinner with friends. He's making osso buco which I haven't had in years and years. I'm hungry. We are old people in Chelsea. We are usually done with dinner by now. 7:30 is a long time to wait for appetizers and then dinner.

I got this email from Rodney Gilfry this morning:

Hi Everyone,

Our daughter Carin did have a car accident on Tuesday, April 5, but, thankfully, she is OK!
Word of her accident has been spreading like wildfire, so I am sending this huge, mass e-mailing to everyone to allay any fears and exaggerations.
On Tuesday night, she was driving her Plymouth Neon in Los Angeles, with bass-baritone Daniel Okulitch in the passenger's seat.
An elderly man driving a Chevrolet Malibu ran a red light and collided with the passenger side at about a 45 degree angle.
Airbags deployed in both cars.  Yes, they were wearing their seat belts. Carin suffered a hairline fracture of the right wrist, a dislocated right shoulder and a bruised right ankle.  Her shoulder popped back in on its own and her wrist is in a cast.  Daniel suffered a fractured cervical vertebrae, and is in a neck brace for a while.  Both were discharged from the hospital within 24 hours.  The car appears to be totaled. The man driving the other car did not appear to be injured.

So, we are grateful it was not more serious!  It could have been so much worse!
Thank you for your prayers and worries and warm thoughts

good news!

I kept telling them if I were I diabetic I could die from this.  They were extremely apologetic while continuing to screw this up.  This medication cost me over $800 and I'm not sure the time it sat out of the frig waiting for frozen packs and then ice didn't ruin it, nor do I know how well the ice worked.   After a couple of hours we found a phaacy that gave me a frozen pack which may have saved it.  I waited until today to call my doctor only to find they are closed on Fridays

You should write them a very strongly worded letter. It could have been a very dangerous situation

Greetings from beautiful downtown Akron!  Anita and I had a pleasant drive - in and out of sprinkles, but no downpours.  We stopped in Dayton for an excellent program on social media and in Delaware, OH, for lunch.  Our conference is at the Quaker Square Inn, which used to be a silo facility.  All the rooms are round.

that's cool  I want to see a picture!

I just found out that my friend's funeral is going to be for family only, and that makes me sad.

Oh I am so sorry - they won't even let you go to the church service?

Because I

a) stayed up too late last night,
b) slept poorly,
c) got up very early this morning, and
d) just drove 220 miles

I'm going to take a nap.

ooh sorry ... I'll try and keep it down

Well...

My bus ride back up from DC this morning was uneventful and relatively fast.

Then once I got back into the City, I ran a few errands. I had planned to take a nap, but I don't think that's going to happen. Hopefully, I won't asleep during tonight's concert by the Orchestra of St. Luke's. They're showing off their new home/concert hall tonight: The DiMenna Center for Classical Music.

ENJOY!!

Isn't THE HYPNOTIC EYE the one where the hypotized woman is told to look out an open window, but she is actually sticking her face into an electric fan?

trying not to be too political but I am just so angry about the self righteous bullies who claim to act for "the people" but really are acting for a handful of well connected and well heeled.....

I don't think that is being too political.  This whole mess is an equal opportunity offender.

I have been reading about that story.

You have to sing at the audition, even though the Mayor doesn't have a song?

Interesting.  Will there be photos?

Not from me, because I left my camera with Richard for pictures of Rob's firefighter pinning.

When DS Rob gets pinned, will that mean he is going steady with his instructor?

You know folks, the posts each day at this time would not be an endless string of TCB one-liners, if a few other people would show up around this same time.

Will shortly be on my way to see a play at Theatre West - I normally don't care for their stuff, but this is apparently about the McCarthey era and it features an actor I enjoy, Steve Franken.
