Well we on the committee think so, DR ELMORE.

I am sure there will be negative comments from those we asked for input, but  who were too busy to answer phone calls or emails.

Time to go so I can get a seat to see "Meet Me at the Gables"  There is only room for 60 people, so I want to go early.  And since I will be taking up a seat in the restaurant....I guess I'll have to have one of their famous hot fudge sundaes....my diet doesn't officially start until after I return from the World Barbeque Championship in Memphis....can't be on a diet for that

Greetings from New York!   I had planned on coming here this weekend but wasn't really sure until  Friday.  For one thing, I didn't have a hotel until Friday night.  I had no luck with priceline.com and settled on The Milford Plaza.  I like the location since it's right in the theater district and is near the Port Authority, where I get the bus to JFK.

I thought the Milford Plaza was closed?

DR KevinH - Welcome back to NYC!

-Can you tell if they did any actual work on the Milford Plaza? I know they had closed it down with the intention of doing a major(!) renovation, but then those plans fell through and they quietly re-opened.

Hi DR Jose!  I had read that they're still doing renovations, but I haven't really seen a sign of it.  I have a very basic room, but it's clean!

When you say a very basic room are you referring to one of their 4X8 closets with the sink in living room?

Oh, let me check!    You're right!   I had gotten a ticket to see Christie Brinkley in the show, but it'll be nice to see Brent as Billy Flynn again!   :)

Sunday afternoon greetings!  We are back from Lima and I've decided to call the doctor's office tomorrow morning for an appointment about this throat thing/cough that I can't shake.  It reminds me of the allergy-induced asthma that I had once in NYC after spending time in a Washington, DC, bookstore with their cats.

The film was ok.  I bought a copy as a part of my Sioux City history collection, but since I didn't grow up here, many of the people they talk about were unknown to me.  Of course I knew who the Friedman girls were - aka Abby Van Buren and Ann Landers - and there was a really funny story about a local newsman - I watched him on tv growing up, but other than that, it was well done just not that interesting to me

My gorgeous goddaughter Charlotte is now a graduate of University of Michigan. Ron flew up Friday from DC to catch one day's worth of the festivities.

Already???

Congratulations, to DR Elmore's gorgeous goddaughter Charlotte on her graduation from The University of Michigan - Go, Blue!

It's very windy today, but since I realized I put a part of the bike on backwards and fixed that this morning, I really had to take it for a spin.    I'm getting more used to how the motor works and between the hills and the wind, I would have had some problems without it.   I went a little farther today. If it wasn't so windy, I would have taken a longer ride.   I forgot how much I enjoy riding a bike, and yes, I wear my helmet.   I mean, after the wedding, hats are in, lol

Good Afternoon!

Well...

My friend, Yosh, came home earlier and wanted to make a trip to The London Candy Co. -Once I told him that they served Ovaltine, well... So we had Ovaltine and split an apple pastry. And that's basically all I've done over the past two hours. I am going to attempt to head out again and do a bit more... Or something. ::)

Another extremely nice day here today. It was close to 70 and sunny. There were so many people at the park and lake. But i went for a 50-55 minute bike ride. It was so nice out.

I also watched my niece ride her bike this morning. They took her training wheels off last week. And today she was able to ride around the block herself. She was so proud!

DR Cillaliz re: the e-bike. I've seen a few demonstrated on tv. And I really thought that you could use the motor only and not drain the battery. I thought it had many miles before it would drain.

you can't drive 5 miles using the pedals nad then just motor it home?

Re: DOWNTON ABBEY:

I watched it a month or so ago when it first hit Netflix. I really enjoy these period dramas. I found the writing just s bit uneven, but overall really enjoyed it. I LOVED the new UPSTAIRS DOWNSTAIRS and plan to purchase a copy. I think I'll go back and revisit DOWNTON ABBEY, too.
