Jane, Martin Clunes' character in DIRTY TRICKS isn't exactly a good guy. He's a rogue, although a rather charming one, IMO. The show also contains explicit sex, which some Amazon reviewers objected to.

I figured out the not such a good guy part.  It is difficult to imagine, & maybe I don't want too, Clunes in explicit sex scenes.

TCB, I'm sure she understands.  You're going through a very stressful time and she knows that. I hope you hear soon what the problem is and I hope the news is the best it could possibly be

I agree your friend  understands and DITTO on the second part.

Good luck finding your previous MRI!!!  How long ago was it?

Ten years ago.

So long ago.  It seems they should be able to figure what's up even if they can't compare them.

I think you are right to wait until the doctor decides what you have.

CONTINUED BEST POSSIBLE NEWS VIBES!!!

DR Cillaliz - congratulations on the success of last night's party!  I hope you're finding today very restful...

Thanks Ginny, I am. I have only been out once today and that was to deliver some things to Paul.  Paul's mom is at his house for a few days while his sister and her husband go on a short trip.  His nephew installed one of those inside air conditioners that vent out the window, and Paul has one fan, I loaned him my high power fan to help force the air through the house.   I also took them some left over pulled pork, a package of buns, some cake and most of the left over beer.

DS Rob arrived home about an hour ago with the great news that he's passed the practical phase of the national paramedic registry test.  Now he just has to pass the written part and find a job!
Great news.

I cannot reveal the things I know from Goodspeed, 1989.  I'm keeping them for the memoirs.

And Miss Clark and Miss Collins are nowhere in the same class.

Elmore, I know your feelings about Ms. Clark, and I am quite sure that they are valid.  But not knowing a thing about the woman, I was truly moved by her performance in TITANIC (a show you also didn't like).

You're right; I thought that the musical TITANIC was terrible: bad book, bad design, bad direction, and some beautiful musical numbers. As to the actress playing a role I assume was based on Molly Brown, I found her over the top and her character truly obnoxious. I'd have preferred less Hyacinth Bucket and more Meredith Willson.  I kept hoping she'd drown by accident. I also dislike her continual reliance on the see-how-hard-I'm working school of acting. It was really over the top in the last CABARET revival.
I loved a lot of "Titanic," especially the music but also scenes in the book. Saw it on the same Saturday as "Side Show," then in previews. Loved that one, too, despite its flaws.

I have never read a Harry Potter book.  I have never seen a Harry Potter movie.  I have nothing against Harry Potter, the genre just isn't my cup of tea

When my friend, Stan, offered to lend me the first HARRY POTTER book, I thought he was crazy.  But I took it home, and one day when I was out of books to read, I picked it up, and I instantly fell in love with the characters and the story.

I had the very same reaction; all the clerks at Barnes & Noble wondered why the first book was selling so well so we all determined to by a first edition, as well as all the subsequent ones so we could each sell a complete first edition set. A lot of those early books are probably beaten to hell by children now, and my complete set is very pristine. Once I bought it, I had to read it and soonevery clerk at B&N was addicted; it was like reading OLIVER TWIST rewritten by the author of THE WIZARD OF OZ
A charming description. Just back from the movie. Satisfying conclusion to the series. Some genuine tear-inducing scenes. Wonderful seeing Maggie Smith back, even Emma Thompson, though they gave her nothing to do, Helena Bonham Carter, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, David Thewlis, Ciaran Hinds and the rest of those amazing actors. As good as the kids are, the movie belongs to Alan Rickman and Ralph Fiennes. Now, who's going to get them all back together in something else worthy of their talents?

I think the only movie I have ever walked out of was BROTHER SUN, SISTER MOON.  There have been a lot of films that I should have walked out of, but that was the only one I can remember doing it.
I saw the first few minutes of that on video years ago and had a similar allergic reaction.

When I was a freshman in high school, my high school's annual musica was 1776 (this  the spring of 1976)   I had seen the movie, I haven't seen another theatrical  production.   I really liked it and still do

It's likely going to be sooner than I want it to be.   If Joe and Jon come up from Joplin in August as they have planned, I'm going to have a party then.  The nice thing is I'll have Joe and Jon to help me get ready.

In honor of National Ice Cream Day, we just had vanilla frozen yogurt topped with the bourbon-infused caramel sauce that I bought yesterday in Kentucky.  Yum!

Wow, six minutes before Kickstarter closes, someone cancels their pledge - luckily only twenty bucks, but what a jerk.  Don't know the name at all, but hopefully that will be the one and only cancellation between now and the next five minutes.

I've moved on to WIVES AND DAUGHTERS with the great Francesca Annis as the stepmother from hell. I didn't think I'd watched it, but as the first part unfolded, I realized I had at least seen a large chunk, if not all of it. I have no memory of the conclusion, so I'm going to keep watching. Excellent cast. I love Michael Gambon.

He has a few choice scenes in the final "Potter".

I have become quite fond of the GHOST IN THE SHELL 3 CD soundtrack collection.

Not so much, I'm afraid, of the OLC of GONE WITH THE WIND CD which BK released, which believe it or not, I've just listened to.  I actually have the Japanese and OLC LPs, so you'd think I'd know by now, but I keep expecting to like it.

Betsy is chairing a "visioning" meeting for our synagogue tonight so I must take the boys out to dinner, which they always complain about.  I used to love going out to dinner.
