Ginny, it sounds like you are having a great time!  My one visit to Paris was when I was a young teen, there on my own, and very uncultured and naive.  I spent two days trying to figure out what the frell the bidet in my hotel room was.  ;)

Uh oh. The church has Quest/Century Link.

Are you having problems?  It could be a local one for us.  We keep hoping it is related to ongoing efforts to upgrade our DSL cables/wires.

Good Morning-- is it Friday yet??

Can't be...I'm not in Oregon, yet.  Tomorrow morning, my sister, my niece and I are going to visit our cousin in Coquille, Oregon for the weekend. :D

I hope that I'll be able to check in here every once in a while.  I might, with my Kindle, if I can find an unprotected Wi-Fi connection and the time to navigate through HHW on the Kindle...it's VERY slow going.

I have never tried getting on the internet with my Kindle.  I have enough trouble remembering to charge the darn thing.

DR JMK I hope your cold is mild & doesn't last long!!

Be very glad you no longer have Quest.  Since it was purchased by Century Link we keep loosing our internet service.  I'm lucky I can post this.

I have had no trouble with my internet service since Qwest become Century Link.  Other than I think the name is strupid.

That's good.  DR JMK has ranted numerous times about Quest.  Maybe it is because we live in Oregon that it is so bad.

I have been watching the MLB playoffs today.  Now granted, they are appealing to a macho, redneck type of viewer, but I have seen this same commercial  three times. Combinging Southern Comfort with tabasco sauce.  Yuck! :P

Actually, I have had far less problems with CenturyLink, than I did with Comcast.  And it seems a lot faster than Comcast.

After 5 days I was finally able to return to the gym.  After a quick breakfast/lunch we took Sherlock for a short hike & ten the the big pet store near Costco where I purchased a new tag for DGD Yogi.  I couldn't read is old tag which also had a Pennsylvania address.  I just put his name & phone number on the new tag.

We left Sherlock in the car while we shopped at Costco.

I will happily watch any playoff game that doesn't contain the NY Yankees.

I had expected to watch the Phillies with Craig.

Well, I must be off.  I'm going to see a local production of Always...Patsy Cline at Capital Playhouse.  It should be good.

Until later!

If you go back and search through my years of rants here, you'll see that Century Link is simply continuing a longstanding tradition of Qwest not providing internet service.  :)

I'll tell you two changes the boys were urging me to do which I fought tooth and nail (isn't that an odd saying?), both of which I'm so glad I've done now:  1) switched from Qwest to Comcast.  The difference in internet reliability and especially speed is amazing; 2) switched from browsing with IE to Chrome.  Again, a much better experience.  I hate it when the kids are right.  ;)

No.  Should I?  I like the name THE DOVEKEEPERS.  The most recent book I have read & enjoyed is THE RED SCARF by Kate Furnivall.

Seattle's 5th Avenue Theater must be having attendance problems with SAVING AIMEE.  They are now playing up the Kathy Lee Gifford connection.

Well... Even "The Today Show" - the fourth hour, at least - is "moving" to Seattle next week to cover the Opening Week/Night of Kathie Lee's (not so) new show.

TOD - The Grass Harp, which opened the Power Center for the Performing Arts at The University of Michigan in 1971.  My friend, Doug, and I went to the gala opening night, attended by James Earl Jones, Helen Hayes, Truman Capote, among others.  The show went to Broadway and didn't last long, but I have fond memories of it.
Chain of Love is a great song.

I'm also very fond of "Floozies".
