"A Man and a Woman" and "The Fuzzy Pink Nightgown"/"A Breath of Scandal" have all arrived! ;D

I presume the "breath of scandal" involves the Man in the Fuzzy Pink Nightgown.

Thank you to all of you who posted Reuben Sandwich photos yesterday!  I did not see them before I left the site last night, so I managed to fall asleep without visions of corned beef dancing in my head.  However, now I have seen the photos and I am obsessed once again.

I see that the student responsible for the problems that led toTyler Clementi's suicide was found guilty today. While I think the verdict's right, I'm concerned about the sentencing.

So, my copyist got the Finale files to work and we're down to five full scores to go! This is good.

LAWYERS FIELD DAY

Quote
Although she met the height and weight requirements for the "Techno Jump ride" at RodeoHouston on Wednesday, a 3-year-old was thrown from her seat once the ride began, KHOU TV reports.

According to the station, the girl's mother reportedly decided she didn't want to ride along moments before it began-- and left her daughter strapped in with her brother.
Despite the lap bar and restraining belt, the girl slipped out of the moving chair and fell to the ride's platform -- suffering a contusion on the side of her head and abrasions, the station reports. Luckily a CAT scan and X-ray at the Texas Children's Hospital revealed no serious injuries.

Well, this is a no brainer –SUE THE RODEO OPERATORS!

They were clearly negligent in not posting a large bill board at the park entrance , another at the ticket booth, and a third at the ride entrance that clearly states:

RESPONSIBLE PARENTING ENCOURAGED:

PARENTS SHALL NOT LEAVE THEIR TODDLERS RIDE WITHOUT PROPER SUPERVISION.

PROPER MEANS YOU MOM!

I hope you enjoy  "7 Brides." It was a favorite when I was a kid. I got to see the touring production with Howard Keel and Jane Powell when it rolled through Louisville way back when. I enjoyed that, too, though even I knew they were a bit long in the tooth by that time. Ah, the magic of wigs and makeup.

You are correct.  That is why Carol Channing is already announcing plans for the 100th Anniversary Edition tour of HELLO, DOLLY!

I think calling it a Hate Crime trivializes the concept.

I have now fulfilled 2/3 of my volunteer commitment to this year's book sale.  Business was steady and really spiked after school let out for the day/week.  Teachers love our book sale!  Here are a couple of our members who were on duty when I got there:

Have you been asked to play Horace  :)

Actually with Carol as Dolly, maybe you should play Barnaby.

DR Jane - to answer your question from last night Pinterest is a social media website that acts as a picture file or bulletin board for visual content.  I've found it very useful for saving knitting and papercrafting ideas.  Would you like an invitation?  Anyone else?

...this year's book sale...

Books are so "yesterday" (Ask Brittanica).

Soon you'll only find them in antique shops.

Can one of you well informed Catholics or Irish history scholars please explain today's Bizarro to me?:

St. Pat. drove the snakes out of Ireland, so he must have driven them from her head, too. That's all I can think of. And if that's it, it's not all that funny.

I thought it was kind of cute.

Had a sandwich and onion rings, picked up the important envelope but, as always lately, UPS has not shown up, hence I'll have to get in the motor car and go back when they do because there are at least two packages "out for delivery."

TOD:

DVR: Now that I finally have a dvd recorder that will bypass TCM's and other stations "non recording" system, I will be watching and recording to dvd many episodes of WAGON TRAIN, LAWMAN, and a few Bomba movies.

CD:Los Bravos (remember their hit song of the 60s BLACK IS BLACK?) If you don't remember it, this should help remind you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGeFf_rIAVQ

DVD:
I picked up a set of Universal-Internationa pirate movies awhile back...perhaps I will get around to watching those.

Oh, I love pirate movies!  And gladiator movies.

I do not like the announcement that Sasha Baron Cohen will be playing Threnadier in "Les Miz," the movie.

As long as he isn't producing or directing, he should be ok.

Well, there are other reasons to look just around (and even some almost-not-safe-for-work reasons)...such as:

Since I am still living in the 20th Century (and will be until the arrival of my Smart Phone from Danise), I have a question for all of you, techies.  There is a commercial that seems to play repeatedly.  It shows a woman and her daughter sitting of the floor talking about the daughter being cast as a tree in the school play.  Part way through the commercial, it shifts to show the mother is on an airplane, but still talking to her daughter.  The commercial is for American Airlines. It leaves me with the impression that American Airlines is somehow unique in their technical abilities.

Is that so, or can you do the same thing on most airlines?

Media check:

I've been watching DNA, a British series from about 10 years ago. I really like it. I especially like the lead, Tom Conti. Has anyone else here seen it?

I'm also reading THE BOOK THIEF. Quite interesting.
