I thought the screen captures for today's notes were really poor.  The colors were all muted and there was too much brown.

Which reminds me. I saw a review of the blu-ray "Singin' in the Rain" in which the reviewer said "the film's inherent softness can be prohibitive". What does that mean? I never saw the film in 35mm but I don't believe the film could ever have been anything but pin sharp.

It is obvious the "reviewer" has no idea of what Singin' in the Rain should look like.  The caps on that site are terrible and I'm told the disc looks good, but since the last DVD was horrible in terms of color, I'm waiting to see it myself.  There is no inherent softness, save for some use of filters on close-ups.

Thanks for all for positive wig comments and good wishes for the show tonight, and for Vickie.

ALL ARE MOST APPRECIATED.

Things are fine DR FJL.

I am hoping we can fix the BIG LINE MIX UP last night.....everyone stopped talking in the dark and the light person turned on the lights.....and ALL of the REQUIRED action had not been completed.

Actor slow on the uptake......I will watch tonight and cue her from a visual.

Last night's opening night went well.....there were some line mishaps, but we had a very nice audience.....about 3/4's of a house.....and we are nearly sold out tonight.....

However the man didn't show up to do the slide show/promo DVD - and he has NEVER told anyone else how to do it.....so we couldn't figure out how to get the picture from the tech office television to the television in the lobby.....which also meant NO preshow or Intermission music....   AND he didn't answer calls or texts.

I am a bit worried that no one has heard from him.....but perhaps he will answer some texts or emails today.

LOL, a wig change does make a difference in a person's appearance, doesn't it?

he says, stating the obvious.

Yes, but it also can make a huge difference in the way that an audience perceives a character...and that's really what's important.

Today is my mother's 85th birthday. Wish I were in Louisville to celebrate with her, but I will give her a call later today. My sister is going in from Lexington for a visit with her son, so there will be some celebrating.

A Very Happy 85th Birthday for DR John G.'s Mother!! ;D

Funny that Gentlemen Prefer Blondes was mentioned earlier today. We took it out of the library (I've never seen it, just clips) and we will watch it this weekend. We shall see.

I bought "Gentlemen" at Costco a while back because it was packaged with something that I really wanted. Anyway, I only looked up during the occasional musical number. There was little else to amuse.

My "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" was from Costco, too.  Those Marilyn twin-packs were a great deal, $4 per film.
