Here's an annoying question (sorry!!) for BK:

A couple of DRs had reported receiving their CAREER soundtrack CDs, and as of today's mail I haven't seen it.  I sometimes get things from the west coast one day later than others, but I thought I should mention it.  Maybe they didn't all go out at the same time?  Seriously, sorry to even bring it up!   :(   (Absolutely no hurry on my part, I just don't want to miss the release.)

But guess what DID arrive -- the second shipment from Amazon UK!

DR John G.:  Send me a mailing address again (I did have it before - sorry!) and your DVDs will be on their way.

Rob Lester just gave me the best Christmas present in a long long time! I'm still in shock.

Nor am I, I'm happy to report.

I do know that we have one DR who reports everything negative I have to say about another record producer,

Larry, are you sure?  We seem to have loads of people reading, sometimes more people reading than there are active DRs on that day.

A. O. Scott has reviewed The Hobbit.  Here's the first paragraph:

Quote
In “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” Peter Jackson’s adaptation of J. R. R. Tolkien’s first Middle-earth fantasy novel, Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) sets out with the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and a posse of dwarfs to battle a fearsome dragon. [Spoiler alert] they do not kill the dragon, although [spoiler alert] they eventually will, within the next 18 months or so, because [spoiler alert] this “Hobbit,” which is [migraine alert] 170 minutes, is the first installment in [film critic suicide-watch alert] a trilogy.

and then later...

Quote
The comparative playfulness of the novel could have made this “Hobbit” movie a lot of fun, but over the years Mr. Jackson seems to have shed most of the exuberant, gleefully obnoxious whimsy that can be found in early films like “Meet the Feebles” and “Dead Alive.” A trace of his impish old spirit survives in some of the creature designs in “The Hobbit” — notably a gelatinous and gigantic Great Goblin and an encampment of cretinous, Three-Stooges-like trolls — but Tolkien’s inventive, episodic tale of a modest homebody on a dangerous journey has been turned into an overscale and plodding spectacle.

I still want to see it/them (the other two movies).

Keith took his car to Medford for an oil change & some other work.  When he was done he called from the road & I met him at Les Schwab.  We then left my car for new tires and will pick it up tomorrow.  Since I don't use my car all that often, & tend not to use it at all when the weather is bad, we didn't purchase top of the line tires for winter driving.  The still cost enough.

My twit is, I think, one of the usual troublemakers I have to endure.  I'm pretty sure I know which twit it is, too.  And I do have the twit's e-mail address.

Well, I'm off to a chocolate dinner tonight. Everything supposedly will have cocoa used in some way, shape and/or form.
